WFMW-- Fluffy Towels
Posted in WFMW
|

Maybe everyone knows this already, but it is fresh on my mind because I spilled about a half gallon of vinegar today LOL.

Your towels lose their fluff and their absorbency from too much detergent residue. If you pour some white vinegar in your rinse cycle, it will cut the soapy residue and give you softer, more absorbant towels.
My next batch should be nice and fluffy wince I used several hand towels to clean up the vinegar ;) I wondered if it would affect my wood floors, but it did not. However, if I notice them gleaming a little extra in that spot, I will let you know next Wednesday.

i'd never heard that about the vinegar. hmmmm. I dislike non-absorbent towels. I mean, what's the point?

Mom2fur (of http://sortafrugal.blogspot.com/) here. I never put softener in with my towels because then they are less absorbent. They aren't scratchy, but they aren't as soft as I'd like, either. I'm going to try your idea. Towels that are both soft AND absorbent would be great!

Great tip! I love vinegar for everything (INCLUDING my floors!) I think you will find that spot to be quite shiny!

I no longer use fabric softener and use only vinegar in my rinse cycle for *all* my clothes and I've been quite pleased. And it's much less expensive. (o:

What a great idea, do your towels smell? Thanks for your prayers, we need them now. I am feeling better and God always seems to bless us when times are stressful. I appreciate your kindness. Have a wonderful day.
