![]() I have always loved S'mores so when I saw this recipe for S'more Brownies in Paula Deen's Christmas Issue, I knew I had to make them for my family. They tell me they are delicious. S'more Brownies (Makes 24 brownies) 15 whole graham crackers, divided 1 (19.5 brownie mix) 3 cups miniature marshmallows Preheat oven to 350. Line a 13x9 inch baking pan with heavy-duty foil. Spray foil with nonstick cooking spray. Place 10 whole graham crackers evenly over bottom of prepared pan; breaking crackers apart as necessary to cover bottom of pan. Crush remaining 5 graham crackers; set aside. In a medium bowl, prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Pour over graham crackers. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven; sprinkle evenly with marshmallows and crushed graham crackers. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely and cut into squares. Enjoy! |

Rules: grab the nearest book. open it to page 56. find the fifth sentence. post the next two to five sentences on your blog along with these instructions. don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book or the intellectual one. pick the CLOSEST!!!!! tag a few other people to do the same. the book is Crusade of Tears Behind him and in contrast to the brightly adorned nobility standing inside, a multitude of shorn-headed peasants covered the abbey grounds like a dingy, tattered carpet. They remained on their knees and hushed, waiting respectfully for permission to stand. These poor souls knew their position in the Creation and yielded in holy submission to the order which had presented itself before them. All, that is, save young Tomas, the apprentice of Weyer's bakery, who defiantly stood by a distant wall whispering into the ear of a snickering woodland witch. The small, frail abbot commenced the gathering by shoutng a customary prayer through the doors opened on three sides. i tag you

Wow. I win the Bad Blogger Award this month, huh? I have even had plenty of material with birthdays and all. But, honestly, most nights I am wrung out! And, to make matters worse, my camera is not working right now so I don't even have anything new to put up for Wordless Wednesday. I will give you a small update, though, just in case you're curious. William has started basketball season, so between that and violin, he is (and therefore we are) kept extra busy. That driver's license, still five years away, is beginning to look pretty attractive. Micah, Johanna, and Sam continue in homeschooling and in their weekly excursions with Miss P. and Miss K. to the indoor playground or library. John continues to be busy with meetings and sermons. We have been averaging about 60 on a Lord's Day morning, so we are thankful to see the Lord's blessing in that. I stay busy enough with homeschooling and teaching at Liberty. As usual, it's the housework that goes by the wayside when I'm struggling to keep up with everything. So, in other words, call before you drop by so we can scramble around and hide the dirty socks and half-chewed raisins under couch cushions. We are all looking forward to a bit of a break for Thanksgiving - well, the kids and I are, anyway. John doesn't really get a break. I suppose I should get off of here now and go earn that Thanksgiving break! There is ignorance to battle and, armed with my encyclopedias and a few sharp pencils, I will do it! |

I had a great day with the kids today. I did however think that going out for coffee with a friend sounded like a nice ending to a good day. I called one of my bestest friends and asked her if she wanted to meet. I was so excited when she said yes. I headed out after dinner. We had such a nice talk. I always leave so encouraged and strengthed in the Lord. The Lord has truly blessed me with a great friend.
While I was gone Jeff had the kids cleaning. I seriously think cleaning is his favorite thing to do Hey, it works for me. Less for me to do. What I didn't expect was for him to locate so much laundry in all of our rooms. I went to the laundry room to find some pajamas and found a gigantic pile of laundry. I really don't mind washing it, it's the folding and putting away that I am not too good at. That is why I had to go hunting through the baskets for jammies. I wonder how long this will take me to do and with this much... will I ever really catch up. And what if this doesn't include the heaping over flowing basket in my room The blue basket to the left is filled with hundreds of socks that need to be matched. In my defense, not that I really feel the need to defend myself Besides my other jobs around here. I have been working on ebay as much as possible to sell anything I can. I have sold close to 100 items in the last month and have more than 50 up now. So I guess that means something has to go undone. I know what me and the kids will be doing for the next few days![]() :>Michelle |

Well, as you may have read, I'm on the TOS Crew and I get to review lots of products and let you know if I like them or not, how they worked for us, and other little details. Well, I have been so consumed with that plus homeschooling the kids that I haven't had time to just write and let you all know what has been going on in our lives. So, I'll take a minute to fill you in. Our oldest daughter is back home and is now looking for an apartment. She's been blessed to be able to purchase some nice, used furniture recently. I'm impressed with the items she's been able to find. I'm thankful she's using her money wisely also!! She and her boyfriend are hoping to plan a wedding in about a year and a half. Our next child is head over heels in love with a sweet young man. They, too, have started planning their wedding. Thankfully they have a couple of years of school to go through, so nothing imminent. Guess I better add "Wedding" to my budget!! haha All of the other kids are doing really well. Princesses 2 & 3 are staying busy babysitting and earning some money. I remember when I used to babysit as a teenager. I would get around $1 or $1.50 an hour and it didn't matter if it was one kid or 3. People nowadays pay $5 an hour for one kid then $2 more per kid per hour. They can really make a lot of money quickly. I'm thankful that they are making their own money so I don't have to buy all of their "wants" with my money. Hubby is doing well. He's performed a couple of weddings lately, and those are always fun. Well, not always. haha Interesting is a better term. Ok, I've got kids pouting and whining, so my time is up. It was nice to take a break and write to you though. Have a great day!!! |

It is so funny when I sit down and don't have anything really to say. I go to write a title and then often realize I don't remember what I was planning to say or am not sure I ever knew
Oh wait! I remember now. I was going to share what I have been thinking about. I so often lose my train of thought The kids and I are still working on what it means to be thankful. I had asked the kids what it looks like when we are thankful. We had to write some ideas on how we can show gratitude. I have to admit, at first I was kind of stumped myself. It is so often so easy for me to easily express my frustration or hurt. Or to say and teach the kids to say, "thank you Jesus for this or that" and yet never really act like we are thankful for those things. I began to ask myself what do I look like if I am having a heart of thankfulness. I am sure I am not griping about laundry and am thankful my kids have clothes and I don't have to wash them by hand-UGH that would really stink (haha I am so funny). I am also not complaining about my messy house and am thankful for the roof over my head. I don't wish I had what others have, but remember this place is not my home and I am just passing through. And the list began to go on and on in my head.... I am always so thankful for what I have, but as we have been studying verses and discussing it. I am sure I don't act like it all the time. I want to live and act as though I am thankful at all times and for all things. God has blessed me in so many ways, even when I didn't know it would be later. It is so amazing to me that when I pray and ask the Lord to speak to me through the lessons I teach my kids, He does. So many times as I am teaching them, the Lord is also saying and you could use to learn this one too. And for that I am thankful ![]() The kids and I will be working on this unit study for just a little longer. The week after Thanksgiving we will be starting our, true meaning of Christmas study. I am praying that as we have been seeking a thankful heart we will be all the more appreciative of the gift of Jesus to us. :>Michelle |

We woke up this morning to a beautiful sight, the first snow! I've not been feeling good and my throat hurts so I'm not singing but I'm humming and thinking this song: The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty

+++ We're going to DisneyWorld!!! It is a complete and total surprise for the boys. :-) We're not telling them anything until we get there... although I imagine they might figure it out when we get on the plane to Orlando. David and I had talked about going for a while but thought it best to wait until Christian was older. Y'know, so he'd actually have a shot at remembering it. *sigh* But there's no better time than the present (and the uncrowded week before Thanksgiving) to just do it. |
