Oct. 1, 2008 - Home Sanctuary: Filling pockets of Time
If you see in my right side bar there is a button called Home Sanctuary and each day there is posted a new little thing you can do in your house to make it more clean, healthy, livable, etc and today is filling the small pockets of time. I am good at doing things I shouldn't be, a good example is me being on the computer while a sink of full of dishes needs washed, so I wanted to post a little list (some of Rachael's ideas, except I delete the dishwasher as we don't have one) of things I can do to fill pockets of time :) Oh by the way did I mention you get points for each small thing and then you can win a prize at the end of each month?
- Fold a load of clothes.
- Do a sink of dishes. (mine)
- Put dried dishes away (mine)
- Wipe down a sink and mirror.
- Scrub a potty.
- Clean the kitchen sink.
- Pick up an entire room.
- Make my bed.
- Water the plants.
- Straighten a junk drawer.
- Read a story to a preschooler. (sometimes I would put it off, thinking I didn't have time...but it actually fits in a pocket, too!)
- Shave my legs. (it counts as a task)
- Clean a stove top.
- clean off computer desk/printer (mine)
- straighten up our school bins (mine)
- scoop cat litter (mine)
- go for a walk (mine)
So there are some ways to fill a pocket of time or two during the day. Idle hands are not good and so this is a good way to make idle hands, busy hands.
God bless
