Okay, Okay.. I know I'm horrible. I've had people emailing me, blog commenting, and instant messaging me wanting to know how the tea party went.
First, it went just dandy. We started nearly right on time and were truly done when my husband came home shortly after 4pm. The moms were just sitting around chatting while the girls played in my daughter's room.
As you know I had stressed about the sitting area in my house (or lack thereof) but that was a waste of brain space. We managed to sit someplace. One mom brought two extra folding chairs which helped seat the girls.
As you can see in my edited tea party menu I decided to enjoy what I could of Sunday instead of working away in the kitchen and made the conscious decision to purchase baked goods and precut fruits instead! I'm so glad I did! Much simpler that way.
The craft for the girls went well. We look forward to getting our specially designed plates back in the future weeks!
I didn't take nearly enough photos. I'm hoping the other moms will share the photos they took too. This was the last time meeting at each other's homes for this season. Next month we're planning on going to a local tea house to practice all those manners that were learned during this year's club.
Here are some photos from the tea party. (Black bands edited in for privacy of others in attendance.)

This was the second year with this club. We've really, really enjoyed it. My DD has thoroughly enjoyed memorizing poetry to share, even pushing herself at times (IMO) for lengthier poems than I'd have assigned her myself. I truly hope wherever it is we move to next that I'll be able to start up a similar group with fellow homeschoolers. |
