So, one of the biggest changes for me, moving from Hawaii to Illinois, was getting back to driving long distances to get anywhere. Funny, because I was certainly used to it when living in San Diego or northern VIriginia, or Florida even, but after three years on the island of Oahu, you'd think I'd never driven further than 30 miles!
Fast moving, congested traffic doesn't bother me. Heck, even the construction on the Dan Ryan around here doesn't bother me. What DOES bother me, however, is that there are too many "map companies" out there on the internet that offer too many versions of "driving directions" for me to get to any one spot. How do you know WHICH map to print up!?
Well, until I learn my way around downtown Chicago better, I'll always need to use maps. But, I did come across this nifty little download for my PDA (Palm TX is what I use) that I can plot my course on my Palm at home (wi-fi access), then use the directions it pulls up while on the road (saves trees, no map printing required!)
