Today, after about 1.5 weeks off for "summer break" we got back to homeschooling, ala LITE!
This morning, after morning routine my DD and I sat out on the patio, unde the umbrella. She did two pages of math, a spelling lesson, recited about 1/2 of her memory work booklet as a refresher, and did MEP math with mom. Easy, peasy... the rest of the day was free!
She played with the neighbor girls... catching bugs, TRYING to catch the cabbage butterfly (till I told them to "let that pollinator alone!" LOL), played in the sprinkler, and climbed a tree. Mid-afternoon the heat got to be too much everyone went inside. After a bit of relaxing with me, she saw new embroidery hoops on the stairs and asked to use one. So she got herself set up with some orange felt while I scouted a bigger needle and my embroidery floss. She's outlining a little bird with a back stitch. Then, I'll try to teach her some filling stitches. If I remember, I'll post a picture of it when she's all done.
DS exercised his leg as usual, played a computer game, made peanut butter cookies, played a bit of soccer with his sister, and watched an episode of Planet Earth with us at dinner. He did say he'd take over the daily evening chore of washing the patio (I like it free of grasses, dirt and other debris that seems to accumulate via wind and children throughout the day) for me while he's here, so that is nice!
