Crafting Friday

Here's my DD to introduce today's craft to you...(you may need to set the MP3 player at the sidebar to PAUSE so the video and the music don't compete for your attention. LOL)

Following the directions (more/less) from this website she soaked the husks for a few minutes:

And laid them out to ready them for use:

And here she is putting arms in place:

And the finished first doll:

And both looking cute together:

Just six ears of corn provided enough husks for all three of these:
Left to right:  "baby" in a pod, "sister" and "mama"

What a fun S&T. I remember being your dd's age and making those in Pioneer Girls. ( a christian girls club kinda like girl scouts) I think I STILL have mine in my Christmas decoration box. [0= I love them. I might have to make some again. Thanks for being a inspiration.

Impressive!

I am so impressed. We grew corn and the closest I came to messing with the husks was when I made tamales. What a challenge. I can't imagine trying to make a doll. Nice job, and cool pics of instructions.

The fall theme is very pretty! The music is nice too. I loved the song I heard and the next one. You are one talented person with the computer. I had the girls come over and listen to your dd talk. Hey I got to hear your voice too! COOL! Anyway, the corn husks dolls are adorable and your blog looks great. The colors are coming through just fine on my Mac, in oranges and browns.

I think this is my favorite all time show and tell. I LOVE the video! Your daughter is soooo cute - she reminds me of my little eight year old (soon to be nine). And I can't believe you made those beautiful dolls out of something so simple! That is so impressive!!!!!!
