Jan. 17, 2008 - Quick Hello
Thank you all for your kind comments regarding my friend Jana. I know your prayers will do her family more good than anything.
We are gearing back into another school term. We've been doing five weeks on and one week off. So we're back into another full block. I think we're making progress in getting back on schedule. We're also on the downhill side of Upward, so that will free things up a little too.
There's a subject that I've been thinking about blogging about all through the Christmas season... Drum roll please.... the Magi! Not what you were expecting? I can well imagine. But these guys, whoever they were, fascinate me. And the more I learn about them, the more I'm fascinated! So I guess to start with, I'd love to hear your thoughts about the Magi. Or have you ever even given them a second thought?
I know this may make me a nominee for the boring-est blog award, but it's how my brain works. And since I'm blogging to share my brain with the rest of the world, Magi, here we come!! If nothing else, if you're suffering from a bout of insomnia I just might be able to lend a helping hand!
Love and hugs,
Kim

We went to a drive through Christmas presentation last month. I liked the stop in front of the Magi. They were in front of their tents, pointing to the star, and then checking their various scrolls, consulting with each other. There is a lot on Magi to consider. Interested in reading what you are thinking.
Blessings,
Laurie

Thanks for dropping by my blog (btw the brain was a cow brain!) My husband is a vet and though he doesn't often bring home these "delights" when he does it is great for the children.
I read with interest you a doing a 5 week routine. We are going to start this too this year. My plan is to have a study focus for 5-6 weeks (depending on what works on the calendar) and then take an independent week where the kids can have table time to finish off work, board games with each other, nature journaling etc without my direct supervision. I will be able to write, plan the next block, and do housework. We will see how it goes.
The Magi are fascinating aren't they. Love to hear what you discover! I enjoyed how the movie "The Nativity Story" depicted them. Made them real and increased my wonder about them.
