The Princess Journey
Jun. 6, 2007 - And Noah obeyed God!
| We need to write more children's songs that bring out the biggest points in Biblical History. When Joshua fought the battle of Jericho, who was responsible for the walls falling down? When the horse and his rider were thrown into the sea, who was defeated by God's amazing power? When God judged the earth with a flood, why was Noah and his family saved? Look at it from this side - when you think of Only a boy named David, what were the points that stood out to you as a child? It was the sling or the tumbling down wasn't it? Would it be great if your memory was a reference to God's amazing power and provision for Israel in the obediance of his servant David? Well, you learned that in vacation bible school or Sunday school, - from your teacher.
Someone start thinking of what the most important points are going to be for the children later in life and start writing! We don't have the rest of our lives to save the world, and the children of the world are receptive to God's word more then anyone. |

Mar. 30, 2007 - Spotlight on Orphans - Still going to Africa
| Please visit this link to Spotlight on Orphans there are some amazing pictures as well as information regarding 4 children's homes in Kenya. Very real, and not depressing as some people put it. The little boys smiling in bed on their grass mats side by side with little floor space. Happy little boys!
Many of you know of my desire to go to Africa. I just know I am going. There is so much to do, and I can help. I may not have what it takes on a lot of fronts, but the Lord does. Does anyone else have an interest in going to Africa? Please leave me a Comment or Private Message, I'd love to talk more with you! |

| Well, I don't know if anyone reads my HSB anymore, but I thought I'd update a little. Things are going good, Isaac got me a wireless router so I can use my laptop now. Yay! We went to Port-au-Prince last week, it was fun and I got a lot of pictures and videos. It's hard to upload very many though.
The Bib la I found is at this link - http://www.gmth.org/Creole%20Bible/index.htm |

Feb. 21, 2007 - The Lord is good! Haiti - Here I am.
Hi all,
I am in Haiti currently serving the Lord at a Children's Home until April 17. Arrival was 2 weeks ago, and I feel that I am supposed to be doing more. Where do you want to send me Lord? I am missing everyone, but the need is so big here. The children have hurts and need loving, and the Lord knows each and everyone of them need to be trained in his ways, but there isn't enough help. Can I do this? The missionary we met on the flight to Port-au-Prince, keeps coming to my heart. She is helping at an orphanage with twice as many children as we have here and they are all older. They don't have enough food. I want to help them so bad. I've always thought I would adopt, but I can't help but wonder if the Lord can use me for more. There are sooo many children and they can't all be adopted. What is the bigger solution? At this point all I can do is Praise the Lord for the Homes he is giving to the ones he does.
If anyone would like to know more about my Haiti trip or adoption etc, please visit my current blog at www.haitichildren.genesisgenius.com I am updating it as often as I may.

Sep. 24, 2006 - Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF)
Yesterday, Dad, Benjamin, and I, went to the MAF "grand welcoming" in Nampa. The MAF headquarters of the US just moved from California to this area and I must say, it was so much bigger then I had expected to see. The operations they have going are giant. The facilities are very well designed and accomidating. Computer systems are very impressive, and the people were amazing. There were Missionaries that served in so many different countries. We talked to Judy Olenik who shared some of her stories about living in the D. R. of Congo. She served 17 years altogether in Africa, countries including Madagasscar and Kenya. We talked to Jim Manley who served in Ecuador, South America for 17 years. He was really interested in some of our ideas including the Solar Radio that we can build into a book cover for around $1. Carolyn Bailey, who works in Learning Technologies. She was very up to par in Linux. They use Linux with Windows emulators, which is really cool. They gave us the whole study course on CD which we will be able to upload and make available for download. (I will let you know so you can get it!) If I remember correctly, the course has 20 different versions of the bible within 16 different languages. I would consider it highly usable for somone wishing to study languages, because of the familiarity you would have with the Bible. We also met Operation ACCESS! which is a really really neat program they use to see where work is more needed and evaluate what is being accomplished. The Air Planes were very neat too. We got to look in some of them and some people got a ride, but there were thousands of people there and we were there later in the day so we didn't get a chance to fly. Go visit the Missions Aviation Fellowship (MAF) Website |

May. 21, 2006 - The crazy man who got saved.
| My friend Matthew gave me some Chick Tracts to give out at my work place, (a Coffee Shop). Ocassionally there will be someone who is open to hearing about the Lord and I will share with them, and I thought these might be a good idea to have to send with people. I was given a box with an assortment, so I set them up on the front counter with a little sign on the box reading "Free Comics". Well, I was in for a surprise today, which could only be the Lord, (I give him all the glory!) you see he used the tracts and me to cause a man to come to repentance! The story goes like this... At around 08:00 this morning, a very strange man walked in the store. He announced for everyone to hear "Hi! I'm a stranger... Hitchhiker... Do you give sample coffee?" Well, I'm not unused to strange people, and I've learned that the Lord wants me to treat all people as himself, so with great joy I offered him a large cup of coffee on the house. He was delighted. While I served the customers in front of him, he picked up a copy of The Fool which I had left on the table and began to read it. The customers who were inside soon left, and this was my chance! I got him his coffee and told him to go ahead and take some of the comics with him, so he selected 3 and put them in his pocket. He said he remembered reading This Was Your Life and that it was a "Trip" for him. He liked that the guy turned good in the end. Now, before you start thinking this guy was somewhat normal, please note, he was nervous and gabby. Some of the things he said made no sense at all, and he really wasn't all there. I was pretty sure he was on drugs, and when I asked where he was headed he mentioned a movie about a drug addict who was going nowhere looking for home. I started to pray for him silently, that the Lord would use the tracts. He left, and walked down the road, stopping at a sign about a block away. I could see him pretty well, as a he sat there reading the tracts. I felt impressed to pray much for him, so I did and he came back! Within 10 minutes, he was back. He returned the tracts so that someone else could read them and I encouraged him to take some more so he did. He said he enjoyed "The Peace Maker which at the time I didn't recall what it was about, but the Lord knew. I could sense his longing for peace, and really felt for him when he found the Navy recruitersbrochure and asked to use the phone. He tried to call, but he couldn't dial the numbers correctly. He was able to dial the 1 800 number and talked to a couple of different people about joining the Navy. Unfortunately for the person on the other end, he was making little sense. After this, I asked him about his life story and what he was searching for. I continued to pray and ask the Lord to give me word to say and that they would be his words to his glory. I asked him if he was saved, and he said "Yes! Of course." but I probed him a little and he said "You don't believe I am saved do you?!" and I said "Well... I have a hard time believing it." well, he got kind of tense, and paced a little bit, then admitted much more then you might want to hear, including "Well, I've walked with Jesus. He's a brother. I was there when he died." and "I am the Lion of Judah". This was rather alarming. I said, which much more gut then I know I have, "That is blasphemy!" and "Christ is the Lion of Judah." He uttered some more non-sense about Budda and some others and he wasn't going to hell. More words that I could not have said of myself told him that Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father, but by me." and "The bible says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." He again proclaimed his own righteousness was sufficiant. I said "I see the struggle in you and I command the devil in you to leave in the name of Jesus Christ" Well, again, he stepped out, ready to go. He came back in and I offered him some food. He had some pasta salad, over which I was able to talk to him some more. I told him of God's love for him and his desire to free him of his bondage to sin and that the Power of God could deliver him from sin and death. I had a customer at the window and he muttered something about "dark to light" when I was back, he became upset. "I'm not going to hell." He was ready to leave and heading out the door when I asked the Lord for more help. I hesitated for words to say, then said "God Bless You". He poked his head in the door again and said "Is Ghandi going to hell?" and I said "what?" and he repeated the question. I said "I don't know a Ghandi". He marched right back in. "I just don't like it when people tell me I'm going to hell. I am God's will." then I had to help another customer at the drive through. He paced around a minute. The struggle in him was very evident. He jumped out of his chair. "I don't want to go to hell. Can we pray? I want to pray now!" so we were just about to pray when another customer came. I helped them, and was back again. He didn't want to pray, so I did and I asked the Lord to fill this man with his Holy Spirit that he would be his people and that God would be his God. In a moment, when I look up, his face was different. The demon was gone! He stepped out for a minute again and I prayed. I went and got my bible and took the things out of it that I needed to keep. He just lit up like a candle, and would you believe it, his words made sense! I grabbed my bible and said "brother, I want to give you my bible. Read it, and find what the Lord has said to you..." His eyes were sparkling and he was grinning away "You are giving me your bible?!" He picked it up and blananced it on his head excitedly. "Sister!" Peace was written all over his face. Like a delighed little kid. Well, I gave him a few more words to encourage him to seek the Lord with his whole heart and he said something about how when he was in rebellion against God it was zealous and now he would now have a zeal in rebellion against evil. It was so amazing! Then he wanted to pray again, this time for himself. He asked the Lord to surely live in his heart and to be his God. God had just transFORMED this man before my eyes, and all I could do was praise him. The man told me his name was Allen, and he gave me a green hankerchief to remind me of him so I would pray for him. He left in a jiffy with a skip to his step and peace in his soul. |

May. 17, 2006 - Jung Personality typing
| I am an ESFP. We thought I was an ENFP, then an ENFJ... Then I got confused! I don't really get it, because I don't tend to think along the lines of systems and how they work. It just matters IF they work. I guess one thing I've come to understand about me is that my logic is not really thinking, it's more sensing. I really avoid the little tiny details in the philosophy by kind of feeling my way around them and seeing what the results are. Perhaps it's kind of like, I start at the end and work my way back from results to means, whereas a Thinking person would start from scratch and work through the whole thing until they got all kinds of results to examine. It's not a problem really, because I don't have to spend as much time thinking about things before I get them done. |

May. 16, 2006 - Beautiful days!
| I've got a lot of sun in the past few days... I've been going on walks down to the big ditch and watching the birds for a while, then walking and singing for a while longer. It's a good time to just praise the Lord. Sometimes I get so busy I forget to say "Thanks God!" for all he's done for me. It makes me happy to thank God. I have this funny song I sing with my niece, (she is almost two) it's just "joy joy joy" in the do re mi notes. She can't talk yet, but she can sing "joy joy joy" and it's really cute. It's almost more like "doi doi doi".
I don't know what to talk about, so I'll just close off... |

May. 10, 2006 - Life ~ I haven't updated lately!
| So, things are going good. I kind of wonder where time is going. :( I've been doing little of anything, that is, I have been getting little done, but it seems like I am always running. I've been reading Debi Pearl's book "Created to be his help meet". I don't agree with her on every last detail, but she has some good points. I've got some good stuff out of it. I think she is a little to dramatic about "if you do this, you are doomed to fail" type of things, but over all, she seems to have a good outlook. She has a good attitude, and I think that's where she's really gone right, but as far as her writing style goes, some people would probably be rubbed the wrong way. Anyway, I've really enjoyed it so far. :) I recommend it for married women and women who are of marrying age. |

Apr. 9, 2006 - Proverb of the day
| Something I like to do every once in a while is to read a chapter in Proverbs, picking the number for what day it is. I don't do it every day, but I always find a piece of wisdom tucked away. Today, Proverbs 9 had some things that popped out at me! "8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. 11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased." Those were really helpful to me. Sometimes I tell people what I think to much, and what I got from this is that I need to be careful to understand who I am talking to, before I go telling them how I see things. I'm not saying anyone is perfect, but concerning things of the spirit, there is a certain amount of discernment which the Lord will give to us if we just ask him. "Lord, how should I talk to this person?" and "Lord, is it going to further your kingdom if I say this?". This corresponds with James 1:5 & 6 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. " and 26 "If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain." If you haven't used the online bibles available, I really like this one Bible On The Web |

Apr. 5, 2006 - Nada
Apr. 4, 2006 - Rodeo Bible Camp
| I can't believe it! Dad said it would be fine for me to go to RBC as a volenteer this year. I have kind of wanted to do it for the past 3 summers, but it never got far enough on the priority list to get an answer. I was tickled pink today when I asked Dad, because I had brought it up last week to give him time to think about it. Today he said "Didn't I already say that would be fine?" I am so excited and happy! I believe it's going to be June 11-17, but I'm not positive. Anyway, I'm going to (probably) be a kitchen helper, and/or any number of things. M. said, I could probably fill at least 3 full time positions. lol. He has volenteered there for about 5 years, so I think he knows the ropes pretty well. The two Nancy's are going so I'll probably have a good time helping them, and my brother in-law and nephew are going too. On another note, I'm planning a birthday party for Isaac, on Sunday afternoon. It's probably going to rain, so we are trying to think of good games to play indoors and outdoors in the rain. Isaac was in a car accident in November 2004, so that he had to have a metal rod put in his leg to hold his hip together. He now has trouble with running, and after playing dare base for Benjamin's birthday, he has been putting up with enough pain to say we can't play anything that rough. I really wish we could, because he loves to play hard. He's going to be 17. I'll think of something. So far, we are thinking of shooting at baloons and volley ball. (I really don't know how he's going to get away with volley ball.) Also, we are going to have Pizza after we've worn everyone out. Any ideas for me? Let me know what you think. |

Mar. 28, 2006 - A little story I found
| Compliments of Emilee's blog Pen Stripes & Ink Blots
The Little Garden...
An exceprt from Memory- the Handmaid of Hope by Charles Spurgeon.
A child had a little garden in which she planted many flowers, but they never grew. She put them in, as she thought tenderly and carefully, but they would not live. She sowed seeds and they sprang up; but very soon they withered away.
So she ran to her father's gardener, and when he came to look at it, he said, "I will make it a nice garden for you, that you may grow whatever you want." He fetched a pick, and when the little child saw the terrible pick, she was afraid for her little garden. The gardener struck his tool into the ground and began to make the earth heave and shake for his pickaxe had caught the edge of a huge stone which underplayed almost all the little plot of ground. All the little flowers were turned out of their places and the garden spoiled for a season so that the little maid wept much. He told her he would make it a fair garden yet, and so he did, for having removed that stone which had prevented all the plants from striking root he soon filled the ground with flowers which lived and flourished.
Just so, the Lord has come, and has turned up all the soil of your present comfort to get rid of some big stone that was at the bottom of all your spiritual prosperity, and would not let your soul flourish. Do not weep with the child, but be comforted by the blessed results and thank your Fathers tender hand! |

Mar. 24, 2006 - Hurray!
| Life is beautiful! The weather is fantastic and the birds are here, which makes waking up a little more pleasant. I love to hear the songs of the morning. Unfortunately, none were chirping at 03:00 hours, this morning when I had to wake. I made up for the shut eye, (or the lack thereof), by taking a good long nap this afternoon. Ah... hiatus. So what have you all been up too? I have been scatter brained this week. I feel like I must have accomplished a lot, but to look back, it's kind of doubtful. Hay, I mean straw -I've been looking into building a house. Sure, it's a little bit of a project, but it's amazingly easy and inexpensive. Here is a step by step photo workshop of a pretty neat straw house. I also think this plan for a compound is really neat, and you don't even need a building permit... My brother Luke and I are thinking about building ourselves little cottage bedrooms outside in the back yard to free up our bedrooms inside. It would be great! -At least for the summer. Tell me what you think. :) |

Mar. 23, 2006 - good ol' days...
| Howdy. I had lazy day. Many to many hiatuses, in fact, after sleeping in until 10:30, I again took to my bed, which is really the floor, at around 16:00. I thought the last part was good, because I read Romans 4-7. It was almost 18:00 when I came down stairs. On Tuesday, I got in the car to go to the post office and the radio just happend to be blasting (ehem, Isaac.) Country music, which is a weakness for me. Golly, I was blue, so I couldn't just turn it off, instead, I sang along. Well, I listened in all my travels for the day, and at this point I am still recovering. Those tunes get so stuck in your head, they can turn you nutty in no time flat!
We sang at the Parma Senior Center Yesterday.
P.S. I found my post! (Yesterday) |

Mar. 20, 2006 - Peace as I see it.
| Qoute for the day... "Well, I better get the things done around here that need done." Understanding- Just what I had asked for. We've all got to much to do to worry about all the 'w's?' and the 'h?'! On Saturday, we went on a hike at the E.s and I'll have to tell you all about it. It was so nice! I was tired after the first hill, and so sore from playing dare-base the day before, but I kept on, and it felt good to exert my willpower. It was funny because Matthew, T. and N, had said they were coming, but didn't leave with us, so I had figured it would be an ambush. Well, when we got over one of the last hills Rachel and Kylie got tired, so they stopped to sit and wait. I went ahead, but stopped before the last hill. It was a big one, and I thought I would go check on the ambush. hehe, so I went back (after lying on my back in the dirt and letting the wind blow away my cares). The girls weren't where I left them, but I suspected something behind a rock ledge. (I just had a gut feeling.) It was the girls, and from that point you could see two figures about a mile off standing on a hill below. Aha, that would be the ambush. I sat for a minute with R and K, but decided to hit the sage brush and travel descretely down the hill to ambush the ambush. :) That was the beginning of more great fun, I made my way, crawling slowly, so I wouldn't be spotted from below. I could see three figures now, and they were running up the hill. I continued to creep behind sage brush, then I made a wild dash for another clump of bushes and heard a quick shreek. I wasn't sure if it was meant to be a gun shot or what, but I was still after that. I knew I must have been spotted. Then, I saw someone in blue, approaching under cover. He was wearing a mask, and hid, like me, behind sage brush. I advanced, and withdrew several times again. Finally, he was within 5 feet, jumped out and fired at me. I laughed and stood up. "If I had only had a gun." N. said "It would have been so much easier if you did, because we could have had it out for a while." Then, Matthew stood up from his hiding spot just behind N., and T. came from behind me. Their ambush wasn't a complete failure, but if I had had a gun... N. gave me one, then they asked me to join them, and we went off creeping again to find more people. I went with Matthew and N and T went to find R and K. We saw Benjamin coming from the other direction and quickly ducked, he had seen us at that point, so it was no good, but Rebecca came along and almost tripped on Matthew. N and T shot her though. I didn't know that, but I jumped out and fired at her when she came near my hiding spot. I'll tell more later, so this doesnt get tooooooo long. :D |

Mar. 15, 2006 - Heads up!
| OK, it's been a while. My super busy life has been... well... super busy! How's it going? I've got plenty to tell, but I've got only 1/2 hour online right now. We'll see how I do. It's snowed this week! On Friday, and today. It's kind of funny because it's a really nice day out, there is just snow on the ground. I am planning a birthday party for Benjamin on Friday at 14:00, so your welcome to show up. :) (His actual birthday is this Thursday.) I've invited the regulars so far. We are trying to plan a hike on Saturday as well, but we'll see how the weather goes. Mom said if Nancy goes we can go. |
