Part 3

"Jerome? Jerome where are you?"
" Right here Mara. Ready for the dinner?"
" Of course! I have been ready for half an hour."
" You have then why didn't you call me? "
" I did I have been calling you since I was ready you just never answered."
" Oh I am sorry." "It is ok. May we go now?"
"Yes we should be going before we are late. Your meeting the king today."
" I am? Wonderful!" "Yes it is..............But why are you so sad looking?"
" I just wish I could hear from father."
" Oh is that all?" "IS THAT ALL!!!!!! You make it sound as if it is absurd."
" No it is just well you know you could have said something."
" Uh huh like that makes a difference I just don't want to talk about it anymore."
" Fine if that's what you want. Come on we will be late."
Quickly that walked to the room where the Dinner was being held.
Mara looked at all the people everyone was staring at her and Jerome.
They were late and entered the room after everyone was seated and
the food about to be served.
"Ahh my s....ehem final guests have arrived!"
Mara looked to see who said this. It was a man who was tall strong and was dressed magnificently. It was the King Caleb.
Mara curtsied and Jerome bowed. "My apologies sire for being late"
"It is fine. It was worth the wait to see so lovely a lady as that at your side.
Welcome Princess Mara.”
“Thank you, your Highness. It is a privilege to be you guest at dinner.”
“Well sit down my dear. Let the dinner begin.”
So they ate and ate and ate. The dinner conversation was inthralling.
Afterwards Jerome escorted Mara back and that's when the bickering started yet again.
“Well that was pleasant” “Yes it was Jerome.”
“Um so do you need anything? Yes I need to go home see my father and mother.” “ I mean besides that.” “Oh besides that well I would like to slap whoever decided to kidnap me.” “It wasn’t kidnapping!” “Oh then what was it? Slight encourage meant to come? A nudge in the right direction?”
“It was necessary course of action.”
“Right!!!” “ It was! If you are patient you will soon realize what I mean.”
“Ya right! leave me I can go on alone.”
“ FINE!! If that is the way you want it.”
Jerome stalked off one way and Mara ran back to her room.
Quickly sitting down she started to think what am I going to do know!
All I do is sit around and fight with Jerome.
Well Tomorrow I won’t fight. I am sick of bickering I want pleasant company. So Mara went to sleep eager to try out her plan which was the following. She drips with Pleasantness and Smiles maybe she can show him how wonderful she could be.
But when she woke up there were Roses in her room a dozen Yellow roses.
Underneath the roses was a card. That said: Prince Tremain Regrets to inform you that he will not be home for the next few weeks.
And next to that was a letter for her.

Dearest Mara,
You need to be pleasant you might be marrying Prince Tremain
Or someone in his court.
I know you do not get along with Jerome but my dear don’t get them angry. You must not be caught off your guard.
Love,
Your Father.

What! Her father new she was here all along.
Oh what conspiracy this is. Well I will show them see if stick around.
Quickly she stepped out side and walked along the garden path.
Slipping between some bushes she headed for the gate.
Looking around she saw nobody was watching quickly she ran out and was on her way to freedom or so she thought............................
