Life is like basketball. It has its ups and downs. Without God, we'd have only downs because we'd be lost in sin. He is the one who gives us our ups by calling us to Him.

But even as believers we sometimes make poor decisions (poor shots). If you shoot from full court you can't make it. But if someone is waiting up court for you (like your church family) to shoot the ball, if you miss, they might still be able to rebound and get a lay-up. God makes it so that with the help of our team we can make more shots (more right choices).

If we just try to do everything on our own we're going to mess up. But with God, anything is possible...even basketball.
