Howdy to everyone! It's been a long day. Today has been packed with school work, errands to run, my Hubby having training at work, and more. I'm thankful for today and I'm just as thankful to have my pajamas and slippers on. It's finally time that I can kick back and relax. Well, mostly.....I'm working on a load of laundry but that's not requiring too much energy on my part. Poor washer and dryer - I'm sure they'd like some time off now and again...Anyway......Can you tell I'm probably about ready for bed????
My sister and her family are coming into town for a visit tomorrow and will be staying with my parents. Our neice will be coming and staying with us. I know my older daughter is excited to spend some time with her cousin. We'll be having a family meal on Saturday at my parent's house and I'm in charge of dessert. Well, ya'll, I'm pulling out all the stops on this one! I'm going to try my hand at making a tall layered cake with decorating and all!!!! Whew - just trying to figure out exactly how I wanted to do it has taken time and brain power! But I'm excited to get started on it tomorrow. I'll have to stop by and let you know how it turns out. I even bought me a cake decorating set for icing! Woohoo - Karen's playing pastry chef tomorrow! To let you know how tall this cake is going to be....I'm going to bake two sheet cakes and cut them in half. Then cut each half across the middle. It will make 8 layers!!!! Is your mouth watering yet? Maybe? Picture this....strawberries, chocolate, chocolate shavings....
While on a food note, I made homemade chili yesterday for dinner. Gals, this chili was GOOD! It ranked right up there with my Mom's and I'll tell you right now - My Mom's chili is one of my favorites! If you'd like to try out my recipe for chili, visit my cooking blog by clicking HERE or on the link in my right side bar for Cook-A-Latte.
Well, guess I'd better be going. It's a little after 11:00p.m. - the washer has finished - and I'm about ready to crawl in bed and work on my Bible study. Hope everyone had a wonderful day!
