Update!

It's been such a busy summer! We've finally started school again this week, after taking a 3 week break. Cayden is now in Kindergarten. Time flies so fast with my little guys. He's really enjoying himself this week as we study about Creation. We're also learning the names of our ABC's and 123's.  Please allow me to plug the wonderful curriculum we've chosen - My Father's World.

Jordan has resumed his studies of the Middle Ages. He's working on a 3^rd grade level in all of his subjects. I was so worried about his reading, but he just took off! It's amazing how the brain just 'clicks' sometimes. Today, I handed him his Writing Strands book and he did the lesson all by himself. Amazing.

Adrian is basically tagging along with Cayden in Kindergarten. Our curriculum allows for such a gentle introduction that even my 2 year old isn't intimidated! He has been making pictures and crafts with us all week, putting his little working finger to work! We use our working finger for glue and finger paint type projects, and keeps them from putting all their fingers in. :)

My husband bought a new, very cool, very big, and very expensive toy this weekend. I'm feeling quite paranoid having this large and vulnerable looking object in my living room, but we've all enjoyed it so much already. Christopher mentioned that our days at a movie theater are pretty much over, and I can't say I disagree. I never cared for movie theaters anyway.

Having spent nearly all of my kids' college fund, I am finding a new zeal for all things frugal! We've not been to the grocery store in almost 2 weeks and have been eating just fine! I've even cooked bread on the cooler days, and it was so good. It brought back some really good memories of being in my kitchen past. Seems I've not embraced it so much as of late, since the storm and all. I'm working to renew my enjoyment, as I loved cooking once.
