Apr. 30, 2008 - Tulips & Yard Work

Today was suppose to be cold and rainy and yipppeee the weather people were wrong again.  It was sunny and around 65.  When we got home from Bailey's piano lesson we went outside to work.   I am still trying to clear that area for our garden.  I have tons of plants popping up and I am not sure what is weeds and what is potential flowers for some of them.  Remember when I was putting hostas up in the front of the house before.   Well when they actually grew I realized they weren't hostas.  Now I am not sure what they are.  I am thinking day lilies or daisies???  There are a few hostas there I didn't  plant, but I am leaving them.  I saw the gardening for dummies book at a garage sale, I think I should have bought it
Here is how they look now.

We had a nice surprise of beautiful tulips in the front of our house.  The previous owners told us they would be here in the Spring.  I didn't know they would be so pretty.  I wish they stayed all Summer.

Here is a little closer.
and closer.
I also worked on the front corner of our house.  It was full of dead leaves and weeds.  I wish I had taken a before picture.   Jeff is getting some new boards to frame it out, but I filled it in with plants.  The boys helped a lot.  Here is what we have so far.

Then we also took a Lilac bush from the garden area and planted it on the side of the yard with some other bushes.   Collin and I used the wagon to bring it to the spot.  Cameron was helping with digging too.
Collin bringing it to where it goes.
I am hoping it will be ok.  It looked pretty bad after we moved it.  We gave it some water, so maybe by morning it will be lively again.
I wonder how big it will get, and how big Carter will get too.
We may have to retake this picture each year
I am so happy it's Spring!!!!

The tulips are beautiful! Your home looks so nice as well! We had that happen too as we moved a year ago but in the Winter so it was fun in the Spring to see the flowers pop up everywhere and I had no idea how things would look. Now this year I am adding things in where I'd like however it looks beautiful how they have it. I just need to work outside with flowers some. I hope to plant a row of flowers as a border to the woods.
Enjoy your blessings- big and small! Have a great day!

Thanks for sharing your gardening pictures, your home and the pretty flowers in front. That is really lovely.
Aaahhh! I hope your bush you moved will be alright that will be so pretty.
It would be neat to take a picture of your little there by the bush each year.

Hugs,
Sheila

I hope your lilac didn't get traumatized! Water it well....then take another picture and post it soon!

The kids look cute in their Easter outfits! They DO look like business men! Business for Jesus!!!!!

It seems weird that you haven't been in the house that long. I remember reading your blog way back when you got it. I remember the ddddolls! haha.

What a nice surprise to see the tulips pop up. They're awesome. And expensive to buy, so be thankful.

I just wanted to thank you for visiting my page and your birthday comment. Thanks!!

Hubby and Teen son had to work yesterday (and last night) so I had to bake my own cake. LOL (the kids didn't feel like baking last night cause it was because it was for mom)> Oh well, next time I will have dairy queen or walmarts bakery bake my cake.

Thanks!!
Hugs,
Sheila

I am so in love with Jesus and am seeking to know Him more each day. I am a wife to Jeff and Mommy to 5 children (Bailey 8, Cameron & Collin 6, Kiley 4, and Carter 2). My house is often crazy, but always full of love. This blog is a story of my adventures, God's mercy and grace in my life, and funny days that aren't always very funny at first.
