I can't believe what a crazy morning we had. I was trying to clean up from our weekend mess. The boys were emptying the dishwasher while I went to the family room to clean up. The boys were done and went to work on their room. When I came back I found Carter "helping" to wash the dishes. I went and got the camera to keep me from yelling or crying.
This is what I found: You can see the bucket in the cabinet that he near emptied and the "safety" lock that couldn't stop him
Soon after this he escaped out our front door that one of my boys left open. When I told him to get in the house he signed play.
UUMMMMM NO! it's 9 in the morning and I am in my pj's still. Then not too much longer he got into the bags of birdseed and spilled it on the front room carpet and the foyer. AAAAAHHHHH He hasn't done this kind of destruction in so long. Normally I keep him right with me, but I was trying to clean up and get dressed. My brother was on his way over to have me watch his 2 boys for the day. Oh yeah, and Kiley spilled a box of Kix in the pantry. All of this was before 11am.
The rest of the day went much better. The boys came and the kids were able to go swimming. The pool is still not perfect, but we are working on it still...sigh :>Michelle
I so feel your pain and frustration! My kids will do fine for awhile and then seem to go in spurts of curiosity and destruction. I have to admit though that when Abe got into the sugar I laughed just to try to keep myself calm ;)
EEEK! Carter! He looks so happy, though.... Now I can't remember what else I was going to say. I don't have pregnancy brain anymore, just postpartum 5 kids brain now...
Oh yeah... B is always bringing me his shoes and telling me "outside". And he now throws fits. So it gets his words and whining gets louder and louder... ugh... and I always end up with his shoes on my lap.
I am so glad to have stopped to your blog to read a few post!
I have MANY days like this and I wonder when will we ever be done with these messes and scares! I then I always answer myself "Not for a long time AND you better learn to deal with it gracefully, Jacinda."
A mamma expecting number 8 which will be number 5 with us.
(((((((((Oh, Michelle.))))))))) It seems like when the things get to spilling it happens in multiples doesn't it. The other week Seth, my nearly 8 yo, dropped and spilled out a bucket full of homemade ice cream into the floor, then knocked a big jar of cheese dip out of the refrigerator and busted the jar so that cheese and glass were all over the floor. Isn't it wonderful that after it is all over (and a few days have passed) we can look back and laugh about it. I think that's one of God's gift to us for enduring through it all. ;) Thanks for visiting my blog again. I'm always delighted to see that you've been by and left a comment.
Love & Blessings,
(: Amanda :)
How sweet of Carter to help Mommy! He looks so happy to be doing it - you must be training him right! LOL!
I can totally relate to these kinds of days... almost every day! :)
Hang in there - it's mommy training! :)
I am so sorry you had a morning of mess but, atleast the rest of the day went much better.
Hey have you ever tried one of those floating chlorine tab holders? We drop a 97 cent cholrine tab in from walmart in the filer basket and it works like a charm. :)
I am so in love with Jesus and am seeking to know Him more each day. I am a wife to Jeff and Mommy to 5 children (Bailey 8, Cameron & Collin 6, Kiley 4, and Carter 2). My house is often crazy, but always full of love. This blog is a story of my adventures, God's mercy and grace in my life, and funny days that aren't always very funny at first.
