Pastry Picture

I drew this in my doodle book for the homeschool art class.  When I come home, I have to practice drawing in the little booklet.  I used three foreshortened circles for the tops of the cake.  It looks round, because I did shading on it.  I did the shading with a shading pencil.  Near the edge it is dark, then it gets light.  It's a triple-decker cake for a wedding.  It has flowers on it.

Great Job

I thought your drawings were wonderful before you started art class...now you're definitely on your way to being an artiste (that's French for artist--it means you're really good!).

I'm a cake decorator and your drawing of that cake is wonderful!!! How did you learn to draw so well? Have you had any formal lessons? Keep up the good work.

We like your cake!

Posted by Anna & Jessica

Hi Sophie,

I'm Anna and I'm 9; my sister is Jessica and she is 7. My mom showed us your cake and I really, really, really, really like it!

We think you are a great artist. Jessie kept saying, "Wow, that's really good!"

Love,
Anna and Jessica

By the way, my mom worked with your mom at Horn Creek.
