Saturday, September 16, 2006 - Women of the Bible Blogs
There are a few ladies blogging here at Homeschool Blogger that are starting their Women of the Bible quilts. Stop by and visit them, they are doing beautiful work!
Check out my dearest friend Susan's Eve block. She is using a freezer paper technique.
And Wings of Eagles finished up her Eve block too. The colors are wonderful!
If any other ladies are participating in this study and quilt project, please let me know so I can check out your blogs!

Sunday, August 20, 2006 - New Bible Quilt Group
Hi Ladies! Thank you so much for all your kind words regarding my work in progress. Many of you have asked where I get the block ideas and such. There is a Christian quilting gal who leads a study on a yahoo group, and there is a new group starting in September. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WomenoftheBibleQuilt/
She posts quilt block ideas to go along with the weekly devotions in Women of the Bible: A One Year Devotional Study of Women in Scripture by Ann Spangler & Jean Syswerda. You can purchase a book of patterns from the moderator of the group, or come up with your own. Most of the times I use her suggestions, and choose colors and/or prints that have meaning to me, and other times I chose to do different blocks all together.
This is a great group for those first time quilters, as there are many experienced quilters ready to help you along in the process. I've made patchwork quilts and quilts from pre-made panels before, but this is my first attempt at a quilt with pieced blocks. So I'm shocked and flattered that y'all find my work worth complimenting.:-) But if I can do it, y'all can too!
If you decide to join the group and start your own Women of the Bible quilt, I'd love to see your blocks!
