Saturday Psalm & Praise ~ I'll Fly Away

This Article was published in Memes and Carnivals

    This morning I was looking out the front door, and was looking at the sky and I saw the wonderous clouds over head. They were moving so fast because of the wind.  It was so beautiful to see God's works. It was majestic. As I was watching them, "I'll Fly Away" came to my head. I have been singing it ever since.
    So for my Saturday Psalm and Praise, I decided to do "I'll Fly Away". It is a powerful hymn that speaks volumes. I can't wait for the day when Jesus comes calling me to go home.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

I'll Fly Away
Some glad morning when this life is o'er, I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
 Chorus
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

When the shadows of this life have gone, I'll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown, I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

Chorus
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end, I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

Chorus
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

    I hope this blessed you today. It did me. Be sure to go to Mom's blog to see all the other participants that have done this week's Saturday Psalm & Praise.

I love that song!

It was THE song that was always sung at church when I was a little girl. Almost like a church theme song, if one could ever exist. It must've been the then songleader's favorite b/c we sang it all the time.

Ya, I am back finally! I glad you posted this hymn it is my absolute Fav. The two best versions are by Jars of Clay and the Cherokee Indian children’s choir. It is such a stirring song, especially when you hear it in a foreign language.

I love that song/hymn. I love visiting your blog on a Saturday or Sunday. I usually forget about the meme but when I see your posts it is so nice to see those good songs.

What is the movie "What a Girl Wants" about? Just the very basic plot. ('Cause I'm really curious)

Oh, thank you for sharing! I just love that hymn! It was my great grandmother's favorite and it's been one of mine since her funeral when I finally "got it". ;-)

Thanks for doing the tag. I'm sorry you couldn't see the pictures. I know the feeling. I have dail-up and it takes FOREVER for pictures to download. >_<

I love the song. Now you'll have me singing it all day......but that's a good thing, right? ^_^

I saw that your Mom posted a comment on my freinds blog, luvs2bemom, asking if she was my sister. No, she's not. She's just a really, really good friend from my church.

I have my Mom's and all my sister's blogs on my sidebar as links. The people who still live in our house have dixie's in front of the usernsme. (dixiefiddler, dixiebeauty, dixiecajuns.) My other sister's LivingfortheKing and ryan'sgirl live in Louisiana. Is that too confusing? lol.

When is your birthday?!? I can't wait to read your plans.
Have a blessed day.
Sarah

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
