The 14 Days of Homeschooling

This Article was published in Fun, Random and Miscellaneous Things

A good friend of our family forwarded us this. I thought it was quite funny and cute. It just goes to show you that you are a witness, just by doing what you do. Homeschooling is the way to go and if you just do what you are doing, it will get noticed and it will influence people.

ENJOY!!

The 14 Days of Homeschooling

(tune of "THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS")

On the first day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Can you homeschool legally?"

On the second day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"

On the third day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"

On the fourth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "What about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"

On the fifth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "YOU ARE SO STRANGE! What about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"

On the Sixth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "How long will you homeschool, YOU 'RE SO STRANGE, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"

On the seventh day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Look at what they're missing, how long will you
homeschool, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, do you
homeschool legally?"

On the eighth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Why do you do this, look at what they're missing,
how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE, what about P.E. do you give them tests, are they
socialized, do you homeschool legally?"

On the ninth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "They'll miss the prom, why do you do this, look at
what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU 'RE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, do you homeschool legally?"

On the tenth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "What about graduation, they'll miss the prom, why
do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"

On the eleventh day of home school my neighbor said to me, "I could never do that, what about graduation,
they'll miss the prom, why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you homeschool, YOU ARE SO STRANGE, what about P.E. do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you homeschool legally?"

On the twelfth day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "Can they go to college, I could never do that,
what about graduation, they'll miss the prom, why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you homeschool, YOU ARE SO STRANGE, What about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can
you homeschool legally?"

On the thirteenth day of homeschool I thoughtfully replied: "They can go to college, yes you can do this, and they can graduate, we don't need the prom, we do it cuz we like it, they aren't missing anything, we'll homeschool forever, WE'RE NOT STRANGE!, We give them P.E., life it self's a test, they are socialized, AND WE HOMESCHOOL LEGALLY!

On the fourteenth day of homeschool my neighbor said to me, "How can I get started, why didn't you tell me,
where do I buy curriculum, when is the next conference, WILL PEOPLE THINK WE'RE STRANGE? I think we can do this, if you will help us, can we join P.E. and we'll homeschool legally.

I am very glad to be homeschooled. And yes, I will be graduating, I am socialized, people think I am strange, I do P.E., I can go to college, I am tested, I will be homeschooled forever, I am not missing anything, I don't care about the prom, and YES homeschooling is legal!!

Homeschooling is the way to go!!

As Always,

LOL! I'm remember reading that last year and it really cracked me up. Thanks for sharing, I needed a laugh!

Let's see, I will go to college (Lord willing), somehow somebody's managed to homeschool me, I plan on graduating, prom--ugh!, we had a reason for doing it, the only thing I'm missing I'm glad I am, I'll be hsed forever, PE is better when it involves chasing little kids around the house, yes I am tested, socialization is not an issue, it's done legally, and I AM SO STRANGE. AND PROUD OF IT!
Haha, yes, I think I've covered it all! lol

Just goes to show that people only think a person is strange when it's out of the norm or their comfort zone. Home school is out of America's comfort zone because of the compulsory school laws for so many years. Hmm...wonder what people thought about forced schooling when it started since forced schooling was out of their comfort zone? Some things are natural like homeschooling and other things not so natural. I laugh at people's ideas against homeschooling. I am studying to be a public school teacher. Why? I have no idea. It's a degree approved by my parents. It takes 4 years, er closer to 5 years really for BS as an elementary teacher. Geez, and they think this to "professionally educate" us. I think after finals I will post a thing about my college's education goals and something I find out that is quite ick. Leave the educating to the "professionals" they say. HAHA, yes, because we know all public school teachers are just "wonderful" and are only teaching their subject. Yeah, right ( roll eyes ). I could go on forever about teachers I had and the unions. They aren't teaching things that help with the students, they want to teach you to be good little consumers. Teachers don't like homeschoolers because you see, there's what a million or more children homeschooling. That's 1 million they can't control. 1 million children that are causing them to lose money. Each time they lose a child, they lose money. And all they need is just a little more money and everything in the system will be fixed... give me a break! Personally I love the idea of homeschooling for the children's sakes. A bonus is that it makes the school system crazy that they can't control our children and by that, freedom wins. This country was founded on freedom, it's time we got more of it. Go homeschooling!

Coming from a background where homeschooling isn't possible, and being a self taught PhD, I can only agree to the statement that 'home school rules". From my point of view, public schooling has only denied me the time and opportunities to do more with my life, and instead of being my ticket to a better life, it proved to be a burden.

Yes, I had a good Thanksgiving.

LOL! I overheard Kris reading that to Katie last night! I wondered where they found it! I'm going to send this to my Grandparents. (I literally overheard them. I was on the piano bench, they were on the floor across the room.)

Last week I was in Wal-Mart and a saw a pink superman winter hat! It reminded me of you!

Amanda,
Wow..that's great! My Daddy actually spoke at my brother's graduation, and he talked about what his kids have missed by homeschooling. I think he got his point across quite well!
And, Congratulations on the baby. Sorry, they're late, I know...

LOL... I SANG it to my children. I think it should be the 14 YEARS of homeschooling, not DAYS! It takes a lot longer than 14 days to convince ourselves, much less our neighbors, right?

Sorry it's taken me so long to comment back. :)

I really enjoyed "The 14 Days of Homeschooling". It was kinda funny!

My Thanksgiving was great! I'm glad my family got to come up here and spend the week with us. :)

How come you wouldn't recommend the Joshua Harris book? I'm just wondering. It's not likely it'll change my wanting to read it. ;)

I didn't get to go leave a comment on your SuperAngelsblog. :( I didn't have time.

The news? As in, Paulie's got a new little sister? If that's it, the baby is adorable!!! If that's not the news, could you please direct me to it. :D

Well, hope you have a wonderfully blessed day!

lots of hugs,
Jordan Lee

That is so funny! I think I read it before somewhere else. Yes, homeschoolers turn out normal, just like everyone else in the world. Actually, probably better than the majority. :-)

Have a great day,

Hahahah! Right on!

That's funny because when my aunt (Dad's brother's wife) heard that I wasn't going to the prom, she about had a heart attack! Hahaha.

Anyhow, I'm finally replying to all my comments. *jaw drops in amazment*

Mom and the baby are doing just fine! The baby is so cute and if you rub her neck and her cheek just right, she grins at you! Aww, she's so cute. Did I already say that?
I don't think she ever gets one minute to herself. Some one is always holding her.

Haha, anyhow, thanks for the comment. I'm just replying to the comments as I go down the list. So, as I run into more of your comments, I'll just comment back!
:D

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
