Our Thunder Storm

Wordless Wednesday is brought to you by Tiany. Click her name to visit other WWs.

My daughter-in-law caught these magnificent photos of our recent (and very rare) thunder storm on Sunday. People sat outside (under eaves, of course!) and watched this mighty display. Usually it just rains in Western Washington.

E's Bad Hair Day

Click on the graphic for more Wordless Wednesdays, brought to you by Tiany.

A trampoline + fine hair + rolling = A Bad Hair Day

And the answer to the Mindtrap question:

40 degrees Fahrenheit. At 20 degrees Fahrenheit the water would be ice.

If you want to know what that's all about, go here: MindTrap Monday

I found out what kind of animal this is!

Thank you, everybody, for trying to help me identify the "guard creature" at our homestead in the Okanogan. It suddenly hit me this morning, while I was reading your comments. An "m". It starts with an "m" I remembered. A...MARMOT!

I found this picture on the web....a yellow-belled marmot in Yosemite Nat'l Park. Looks identical to our "guard-marmot" in the mountains of Central WA. Click on the picture if you want to learn about this obscure creature ("obscure" in the fact that I never heard of them before).

Wordless Wednesday is brought to you by TIANY! I'm not on my computer so I can't put up the cute graphic. But click on TIANY and you'll find more WWs.

Some folks have "Guard Dogs" for their properties. We have a "Guard . . . ___________" on our 14-acre homestead.

It's Wordless today because I can't for the life of me think of what this creature is called. Help!

Is it spring yet?

See more WW by clicking the graphic.

Please send a little Global Warming our way--It's April!

And the answer to Monday's MindTrap problem (You're going to hit me):

Four men sat down to play,
They played all night 'til break of day;
They played for gold and not for fun
With separate scores for everyone.
When they came to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair amounts.
Can you the paradox explain,
If no one lost, how could all gain?

The players were professional musicians.

"Look, Ma! No Cavities!"

"Look, Ma! No cavities!"

And the answer to Monday's MindTrap problem:
Shadow had parked his car under a tree and was heading toward the suspect's house when a vicious dog lunged at him. Luckily for Shadow, he was just beyond the dog's reach. Since the suspect wasn't home, Shadow decided to leave, but he had a slight problem: the dog, straining at the end of his chain, was following Shadow's every move. With the chain attached to the tree, the dog had access to both car doors. How could Shadow get into his care without the dog being able to reach him?
Since the dog was following every move he made, Shadow began circling the tree, with the dog right behind him. After several revolutions, the chain became shorter, and consequently, the dog no longer had access to both car doors:

A Blast from the Past

OK, so this is not your typical Wordless Wednesday. But I'm having a little fun here. I'm sure the photo below will render you speechless...er...wordless. So it counts.
Is this not the model 60s family? 1965, to be exact. I remember this day vividly. I can see all the colors! My entire family--grandma/grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousins, sisters, mom, and dad. Note the Wizard of Oz dress on the middle girl. So typical!
Who--among these geeky folks--am I?

Wordless Wednesday is here: Tiany's.

Oh, I almost forgot the answers to MindTrap Monday:
Easy:
How many three cent stamps are in a dozen?
TWELVE 3-cent stamps are in a DOZEN, of course.

Challenge:
When the day after tomorrow is yesterday, today will be as far from Wednesday as today was from Wednesday when the day before yesterday was tomorrow. What is the day after this day? (Try saying THAT fast 10 times!)
THURSDAY

Spring is coming!

Click the graphic for more WWs with Tiany!

"...the mountains shall break forth into singing...." ~Isaiah
I took this picture of majestic Mt. Rainier last week while riding my bike around our countryside. Spring is coming!

Oh...for all you Mindtrap Monday participants, here are the answers to the questions:
Lyric, sigh, you should have NOT deleted (edited) your answers. You had them exactly correct--so much so that I thought you had copied the answers from the back of cards you held in secret.

Which animal sees most clearly in total darkness? Uh...no animal can see in total darkness. (Think underground cave for an idea of total darkness).

How does the starving rabbit manage to eat the lettuce and still escape through the picket fence? The rabbit squeezes through the fence, grabs the lettuce, pushes it over to the fence, squeezes back through the fence (while still skinny and hungry), then proceeds to eat the lettuce through the slats in the fence. After which he hops away--safe. LOL

Stay tuned next week for another Mindtrap Monday. (They get harder, folks.)

Saddle up!

Go to Tiany's for more WW... However, at this time, her WW is not yet posted. And totally understandable! She and her family have caught the plague. So...go over anyway and encourage her that this, too, shall pass--but not pleasantly. In the meantime, here is my Wordless Wednesday.

What? You mean this is NOT a pinto pony?
