The beginnings of reading.
Today we worked on the sound pattern -at .
We made a little hat with two slits in it and we slid a feather
with different letters through the slits. We went through it once
sounding out the letters really slowly and I helped her a lot and then
the next time through she seemed to have figured it out. She was
having a hard time at first cuz she would say the sounds too separately
for example buh AT Buh At buh at, but she never put them
together. The second time through it was like a light went off
and she realized how to put the sounds together. I just had to
get a video of it! I'm so proud of her.

WOW! WTG!!! She is reading better than Cameron. I think he will be ready for that soon.
Although I think it helped to have him watch that video and tell him how young she is. Competition and all. LOL

Wow, Natasha. Thanks for sharing that video! It is so neat to see the light go on in her head when she makes the connection between letters and words. The excitement in her eyes and her pleasure in herself for figuring it out is thrilling. What an amazing thing it is to learn to read!
