A Celebration!

I recently celebrated my seventeenth birthday. What a splendid day I had! I was in the happiest of spirits all day.

Bethany made me breakfast and dinner. She also made me a spice cake and strawberry ice-cream. YUM!

For breakfast we had had: Oatmeal (the cookbook calls it Breakfast Porridge), turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, milk, herb tea and a variety of fruits.

For dinner we had chicken enchilada, salad with Italian dressing and avocado dip with potato chips. (The avocado dip is a recipe that my Mom has from my Grandfather.)

For presents I received:
From my youngest sister: A card, a pack of four puzzles and a picture she drew.
From my eight year old sister: A card, an envelope of things she made, a bookmark she made and a box of stationary with roses on it.
From Bethany: Besides almost everything that I ate that day, she also gave me a pencil and a necklace.
From Dad and Mom Three different designs of stationary (I LOVE to write letters to others), a NASB version of the Bible and a teapot.

Seventeen! What changes - welcome changes - have come since my birthday one year ago. It was in this year that we found and started attending our present church. It was there that God started speaking to my heart through our pastor and I soon after rededicated my life to Him. (see My Testimony)

It was in this year that I was baptized with my sister in the pool of a family who is a part of our church. We and two other girls from our church, each in turn publicly testified, after which each of our fathers’ baptized us.

It was in this year on June 1st that I started this blog. I had shared two other blogs with my sister Bethany before, but in this year we branched out into separate blogs. Mom thought it would be a good learning experience. It has been that and more. It has been really fun. I have loved making new friends here.

I just want to end by praising the LORD for all He has done in my life in this year. The trials I have gone through, the joys I have experienced - all are a part of His plan that He might be glorified through my behavior. I know I have failed many times, but I am striving to overcome my sins. Praise the LORD for all the help He has given and I know will continue to give.
