Happy Independence Day!

We are going to a family BBQ / Picnic at Troys Grandmothers home "Mami" the boys will have lots of cousins to play with.   I spent today with Troys Grandmother and her sister, her sister was in a horrible car accident and is in a rehabilitation center for 3 months. I will most likely start taking "Mami" to see her once a week. I am looking forward to it; I enjoy sitting and talking with them more then anything. I learn so much from them about raising a large family, cooking, homekeeping and being a good and faithful wife to my husband. (Which isn't always easy to do, my mouth can often get me into trouble) We are praying that Mami's sister (Auntie Ciola) will heal quickly and be released before the 3 months.

I pray you all have a fun, safe and blessed Independence day with your family and friends!

We gather ‘round to celebrate
On Independence Day
Pay homage to our country
As the children run and play.

With barbecues and picnics
And fireworks in the air
The flag we own is proudly flown
To show how much we care.

The stars and stripes spell freedom
She waves upon the breeze
While bursts of colors can be seen
Above the towering trees.

This is all quite wonderful
We revel in delight
But God above in divine love
Has brought this day to light.

With just a stroke of liberty
A touch of His great hand
He gave democracy to us
And helped this country stand.

The stripes upon our stately flag
Were touched by His sweet grace
Each star of white that shines so bright
Reflects His loving face.

So as you turn to face the flag
For battles that were fought
Be filled with pride for those who died
And freedoms that were bought.

But don’t forget to thank the One
That gives the bright display
The reason why we paint the sky
On Independence Day

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY June 30th
Outside My Window...
Are pretty blue skies, puffy white clouds, bright green grass that needs cutting and a very hot and panting pup in our very humid weather.
I am thinking... Of all that must be done in the day and how I am going to accomplish it all. Oh and muffins!
I am thankful for...
Humming birds at our feeders
From the kitchen...
I smell those muffins
I am wearing...
pajama capri pants and matching tee
I am going...
to run a few errands and stop at the fresh produce stand
I am reading...
Victoria Magazine
I am hoping..
. to tackle some closets and tidy up my linens
I am hearing...
Mocking birds singing, boys laughing, dog barking to come in.
Around the house...
Boys playing and laughing with papa
One of my favorite things...
Birds at my feeders
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
Declutter closets, start working out, go to the Movies with family
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Monday Meanderings

Hello Ladies,
I pray you all had a very blessed weekend! We had a busy fun filled weekend with family visiting from out of town. Sunday we had a huge BBQ, a house FULL, boys, cousins, dads and "Papi" Troys day ( who is 70 years young) playing basketball till late into the evening. I love spending time with family and I love when we have a house full, it is well worth all the clean up, late night  and tired feet afterwards.

I do have some not so happy news to share with you all :-( Im sure by now you all have noticed how stretched my computer time has become since we luanched The Homeschool Lounge in February.

THL has grown in leaps and bounds and cotinues to grow daily, all glory and all prauise for the succes of THL goes to the Lord! Below you can see our current stats...

3601 Members
154 Groups

3438 Discussions
2212 Blog posts
5440 Photos
127 Videos
783 Music Tracks

This is all mind boggling to us and unfortunaley has left me a bit torn, stretched and feeling a tad guilty about my blog and my blogging buddies. I have had little to no time to get around the blogosphere to say hello to my Blogging sisters.

With all that said I have decided to discontinue Monday Meanderings for now, who knows I might start it back up again soon or in a year or whenever the Lord leads me  to do so. For now I will not be posting my MM posts as I have in the past , weekly with mister Linky attached.

I am not leaving you without a fabulous Meme to particpate in though by any means, I recently came across this great meme HERE called "The Simple Woman's Daybook". It is a Monday Meme and looks to be a sweet and fun meme.

You can view my first Simple Woman's Daybook post  HERE!

If you would like to coninue to do Monday Meanderings to keep your week on track by all means continue! I will still post a MM from time to time when I can. For now, this will be my last MM post with a Mister Linky attached. Sorry.

I will however continue to blog but without the pressures and responsiblity of having a weekly post to fullfil. My Worldess Wednesday will continue simply because I always have a pic to share.

Bible Study/ Devotions ~ Now that summer time is here and Troy is home during the day we are going to start doing our Morning family devos again.

"Must Do"~ (Not the “To Do” list but the “Must Do” list!)

This week I Must ...

  • Prepare and mail July Greeting Cards
  • Take my first Tae Kwon Do class, yes you read right! Troy started last week and this week he is trying to drag me in there too. I guess it has become a family affair. (Did not do this last week)
  • Start working out again, maybe do Hip Hop Abs.

Homekeeping ~ Cleaning out my  closet, looks like a tornado hit it and I can barely get the door closed!

Train Them Up~ Making new chore charts!

I hope tio share some pics next week, I have my meals planned and groceries all done!

Monday ~ Left over BBQ

Tuesday~ Pull apart subs

Wednesday~ Picnic dinner

Thursday~Grilled chicken, veggies and rolls

Friday~ Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Saturday~ Leftovers

Sunday~ Supper at Troy’s parents

Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Ingredients

6-8 chicken tenders raw cut into peices
1 package of reduced fat crescent rolls
4 slices of white american cheese
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of 2% milk
1 can cream of chicken soup (98% fat free)

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
1. cut chicken tenders in to small pieces and brown in skillet. (make sure it is cooked thouroughly).
2. while chicken is cooking, mix milk and soup in a seperate bowl. set aside
3. put 1/2 slice of cheese and some of the chicken in a crescent roll and wrap the crescent roll around it. do that with each crescent roll and place in 9X13 baking dish.
4. Take the milk and soup mixture and pour over the chicken rolls.
5. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
6. place in oven and cook for about 20 minutes. The crescent rolls need a little extra time to cook because of the soup mixture.
This recipe makes 8 servings and I usually serve with corn.
If you are participating in "Monday Meanderings" or "Menu Plan Monday" be sure to leave a link on Mister Linky, so we can visit you!

Don't forget to enter to win one of two $25 Gift Certificates HERE!
