We are almost to the end! Phew! ( :
Is socialization really an issue? Who says- God or man? What does socialization mean? Is it even something we want to happen to our children? Does God want any of us to be socialized?
The applicable definition of socialization: the adoption of the behavior patterns of the surrounding culture; "the socialization of children to the norms of their culture"
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” -Romans 12:2
. Are children truly getting a better education in the public school or is home schooling academically superior? Does one have to have a teaching certificate to effectively teach children? Do you think that you could not possibly do this right or are not patient enough? Where does patience or the ability to do anything come from?
By grade eight, the average homeschooled student performs four grade levels above their public and private school counterparts.2
A background in teaching is not necessary; in fact, "home educated students' test scores remained between the 80th and 90th percentiles, whether their mothers had a college degree or did not complete high school."3 (references will be given in my closing thoughts)
“I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service” -1 Tim. 1:12
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” -Phillipians 4:13
Are children safe in the PS? Are sexual predators within the walls of our PS and being paid to be there? What about school shootings- do you think the victim’s parents thought it would happen in their school? Should we ever send our children to a place where police are needed every day all day to protect them?
Please read through the archives posted here: http://homeschoolblogger.com/anotherblogger/
And remeber this one I posted a few weeks ago?
Verify these and then consider the possibility of this being your child’s school - it can happen in your school and to your child!
Who is eternally responsible for the way children are raised? If a Christian parent knowingly sends their children off to a secular, humanistic, public school and allows them to be taught things contrary to the Word of God, who is more responsible the teacher(who is teaching the lies) or the parent(who sent them there) when they walk away from the Lord? Again, who will God hold accountable?
“On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them. Therefore I swear to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”
-I Samuel 3:12-14
“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord”
-Eph. 6:4
Read what Jesus had to say about this:
“but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
-Matthew 18:6
“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.”
-Mark 9:42
