I just reread my last post and it struck that it may have come across as if I keep my kids locked up inside away from the outside world doing studies and chores all day - not so - my main problem was that in all of our idleness we were becoming lazy and selfish and that Vanity Faire was our place of choice to spend all of our time. One other truth we pulled out of the story was the reason why the dragon wanted them to stay there - so that we would lose sight of what we are here for!
So please don't think I am against breaks and enjoying the sun, in fact most of our lessons will be done outside this summer - I am against 3 straight months of idleness and feel that we do need to follow the pattern established for us by God of working six days and on the 7th we rest and this pattern is important in keeping our focus on what is important! |

We are working diligently to keep that Sabbath day set apart. It sure does take a lot of work, a lot of preparation. The children get excited as they look forward to a day of no chores, and all rest and play.
