Under His Construction

• Jun. 28, 2007 - A fool vents all his feelings...

But a wise man holds them back. Prov. 29:11

Anyone convicted? I sure was when I read this one thinking about how often I share my feelings about something that I should not have. I have been meditating on this verse and I am seeing even more personal application from it all the time. In how many different situations do I vent all my feelings? Do I give my opinion when nobody asked? Do I complain and whine? Do I allow my kids to whine and complain? Do I share a hard situation with others just to vent all my feelings? I am sure if I think about it long enough I will find many more situations where I would be wise to hold back my feelings!

Excellent verse and yes, very convicting! It is because of verses like this that I prayed so much before posting my last post.

I wanted to thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I am certainly an advocate for discernment! We are actually probably very like-minded on the subject of homeschooling. When I read Deuteronomy 6 I can't see how I could possibly obey it while sending my kids away for several hours every day! But I just can not bring myself to that step of calling not-homeschooling a sin. Almost, but not quite, and part of it is because I DO know godly homeschoolers who are raising godly kids in the public schools. They have their work cut out for them and their kids will have to overcome great amounts of temptation and other obstables, and I don't think it is the best way! I have been as vocal as is edifying in encouraging them to consider homeschooling, but ultimately the choice is theirs and if they are claiming to be prayerfully obeying God's calling for their family, I really have no authority to dispute that. Perhaps in a few more years when the fruit is evident....

Continue being bold in sharing your convictions and the Word of God! Do not be ashamed of taking a stand for the truth!

Blessings,
Angel

So now I have yet another VF product for my wish list. I wish we could get those through Paperback Swap. Maybe we should start a VF swap, although most of us wouldn't want to get rid of anything. LOL.
