Under His Construction

• Oct. 13, 2007 - A Case of Mistaken Identity (Part 2: Questions and Answers)

If you missed part 1, I am sharing a study that my kids and I are doing right now in our Bible class called 'A Case of Mistaken Identity' that requires a little detective work.

I left off last time at the point where my kids had come up with a list of the questions that needed answered in order to solce the case, so in this part I will share the questions that they came up with and I will begin to reveal the answers.

The questions were centered around the 5Ws and the H that all good 'super slueths' use when solving a case. (  :

Who:

Who lied?

Who was lied to?

Who was lied about?

What:

What were the lies?

Where:

Where did the lies take place?

When:

When did the lies happen?

Why:

Why did someone lie?

How:

How did someone lie?

How many lies?

Well - is anyone curious yet? Are you thinking about all of the lies that took place throughout the Bible and wondering which one I am going to bring out? Yeah - so did my kids!

Well you need go no further than the very beginning. Yep that's right - shortly after creation in the Garden of Eden. This was the only fact I had to share with my kids - they then started spouting out most all of the answers to the questions they had come up with.

"I know the 'who' answers mom!" My daughter said, "It was Satan who lied to Eve about God!"

My son joined in with "It was right after creation! So that is 'when'."

We then discussed that Satan disguising himself as a serpent and decieving Eve answered 'how', and that we had already made a t-chart in the introductary class that explained why Satan lies (to steal, kill, and destroy). So that left us with two questions still to answer: 'What were the lies?' and 'How many?'

I think this is a good place to stop for now. I will share the first lie in my next post.
