Under His Construction

• Oct. 23, 2007 - Ron Paul

The upcoming presidential election has been on my mind a lot lately. There are so many candidates to research. So far I am really liking a few of them but the one that is standing out the most to me is Ron Paul. Have any of you heard of him? I am so excited to see a candidate whose priority is to get back to the Constitution - truly! He has a very good knowledge of the original intent and you can tell by what he has to say. He is not just spouting out claims of being for a very limited government but has a thorough knowledge of what the Founding Fathers had to say about the purpose of the government. He knows the warnings they gave to us about so many of the issues and he stands for the very same things. I do have a lot more research to do but so far this man is winning my vote.

And apparently this survey (http://www.vajoe.com/candidate_calculator.html) thinks so too. I just took it and guess who my views lined up with the most? Yep - Ron Paul by a large percent! I thought you might enjoy taking this survey as well, but more importantly I urge you to get familiar with the candidates and vote your conscience this election. Remember our God is soveriegn and He is in control! Nothing is impossible for Him - and so, yes, lesser known candidates like Ron Paul could win!

Just thinking about the election makes my head hurt. God is our only hope! May liberty advance and be preserved for future generations.

Peace to you,

Miiko - Yeah - yet another way my views line up with his! Isn't that wonderful to see in a candidate - the representatives here in ID are very prohomeschool so far as well! ( :

Renae - I know what you mean - I had thought of turning it into a lesson about the electoral process and also an evaluation of character and principles of these men (and woman) running - but thinking of it just made my head spin! ( : Maybe next election - well - if there is one - this election could doom the US depending on what happens with our current waning support of Israel.
Amen - God is our hope and He will be victorious!

I got into a political discussion with some friends and said that I was not impressed with any Repub's and that they and the Dem's seem way too much the same. I told them I was looking into different party, the Constitution~ but more importantly than that, a man who is going to represent us the way we should, with the views we hold. They strongly disagreed and said if we do that we are only giving the vote to the Dem's. I said, not if everyone did it this way. They kind of nodded, but still did not see my point. Interesting... but I was there last election. I will pray for opportunities to continue this talk and that God would change their hearts on this most important issue.
