Under His Construction
• Feb. 2, 2008 - What I have been doing all week?
Oh so much!
1. Getting back into the swing of things with our school which is taking quite a bit of discipline. A very good thing!
2. The kids have joined Awanaat a local church here in ??. This is our first experience with AWANA and we are loving it! The kids are putting in so much time to learn their verses - so good! Oh and we also found out that there is a local Keepers of the Home group for my DD to join - another first for us! It sounds wonderful. I guess there is also a boys version called 'Contenders for the Faith' but there are not enough local boys interested - maybe my three will make a difference! Or maybe we will have to start a group with my friend Jen at Little Treasures and her 3 boys now that we are close enough to meet with them. BTW - make sure and go give Jen your warmest housewarming wishes - she and her family just moved into a beautiful home in the country just across the border and is now back to blogging again.
3. We just got home from the kid's first theatrical performance - a musical! put on by the Missoula Children's Theatre. This is truly an amazing company that sends teams of two out all over the USA and in 16 other countries as well. They audition the kids on a Monday, practice each afternoon all week and by Friday the kids are performing a musical in front of an audience with a follow-up performance on Saturday! We are talking a full scale musical complete with singing and dancing and individual parts learned and ready to perform in one week! Impressive to say the least! The kids did so good - it was so much fun to watch!
4. In my spare time (LOL) I was also entering giveaway after giveaway over at Bloggy Giveaways. It was the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival! And guess what? I have won three so far! Woohoo! Wanna know what I won?
-A set of burp cloths from www.itswhimsy.com - I chose the Orange Damask set. Aren't they cute?
(I know - I don't really need any burp cloths myself but I go to enough baby showers that I know I will be so glad to have them to give!)
-An incredible sounding writer's workbook calledREACH FOR THE STARS from Susan at My Homeschool Blog! She is a children's author that just happens to live in Washington as well - we have had a nice time visiting about Washington and the WSU Cougs over the last few days! Fun! My DD will love this book. Make sure to go and read about what lessons are covered - it sounds so good!
-And last but not least (and maybe not even last since most of the giveaways are just ending tonight and so I could still win more - I hope, I hope, I hope!) I won two books,Reading Reflex and Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends (I have been wanting this one forever - hmmm? I feel a book review coming in the near future!),from Betsy at The Homeschool Way.
Thanks so much to each of you for the great stuff!
