Jul. 30, 2007 - Summer Fun Update: Amish Visits and More
Hi everyone! We have been having a wonderful summer and it has been lovely to shed our coats and mittens and enjoy the outdoors more.
The kids had soccer and t-ball and we have visited the beach, the zoo, the park and some other fun places in our area.
One of our favorites has been what we call "Amish country" in nearby Geauga County, Ohio. My children have enjoyed seeing and learning more about the agricultural lifestyle of the Amish people. We have bought some very nice produce and some bulk foods. It is nice for us to leave our suburban area to explore the more rural parts of our area. Many thanks to our wonderful Lauri, and her children, who have introduced us to this wonderful experience.
Added to this summer of new experiences has been our attendance at a new church, Christ Community, a small, traditional, Reformed-leaning congregation with very solid Bible teaching each and every Sunday as well as very cordial, encouraging and informative Home Groups. The pastor even took the time to visiti our home last week and we were very grateful for that. My husband likes the Men's Group study of "Twelve Ordinary Men" by John MacArthur and my children like the Sunday school and verse memorization. We are very much enjoying this church and are looking forward to their annual picnic next week.
We thank God for leading us to this church which seems to be drawing us closer and closer to Him and more and more committed to living out the Gospel.

Nice blog title. It is so important to find a church where you know that you are loved and needed, and can benefit from finding like-minded people. Happy Homeschooling!
