Chase and I (and Alyssa a little bit) have been enjoying reading the My First Little House series of picture books. The illustrations are refreshingly charming and realistic (something I see less and less of in today's children's books) and the books describe the simplicity, hard work and warmth of life in the big woods. I am surprised at my enjoyment of the series! I had forgotten how much I loved reading the Little House series as a young girl. Now, I view those stories of life long ago with a new appreciation. I will be co-teaching a Little House class in our co-op- I am looking forward to it.

I've always loved the Little House books as well...I have boys and they're not interested in them...but I have 5 nieces so they often get presents having to do with Little House!
