I knew that we needed some changes in our organizational space to optimize our homeschooling so today I took advantage of the fact that our co-op did not meet to do some serious re-arranging around here.
The art table went down to the family room, the TV got moved over so it is less of a distraction and the buld of our homeschooling materials are now in Chase's room. Our home is relatively open, which I love, but Chase finds very distracting. This way, if I need to, we can homeschool with the door to his room closed.
Also, I like the idea of consolidating all of our homeschool materials. The one corner I allotted for this is just not enough anymore! We did not actually do any formal homeschooling today but I hope that Chase learned something about responsibility and cleaning as he helped me with the chores through the day. We did go over some phonics in a casual way- Chase wanted to go over the vowels again. He seems to really be fascinated by vowels- I am not sure why.
Looking forward to completing the organizational project tomorrow. Maybe if I can get it neat enough I will post a picture. |
