the ramblings of a Scottish lad

Down and Dirty

Many of you have been asking me when I was going to add a new entry.  Well, here it is.  Would you like to know what an 11 year old boy who lives on a 4,000 acre prairie does?  Here you go:

I went to the bison auction last week.  My dad sold 30+ bison to people all over the state.  Most of them went to slaughter but some of them did got to other farms.

It was really windy that day and my sister said that it stunk.  I thought it was really cool.

I hepl my dad with feeding the bison and elk some times.  There are times when I go up to the visitor's center to hang out with my dad while he is at work.  I like the VC because it has alot of room to wrestle with my brother.  Sometimes my dad tells us to be quite.  We have to be careful because there are visitors that come in to see the park.  My friend, Tony (aka antoniochef) lives close by.  We like to play swords outside.

In the summer we play in the creek that runs next to my house.  Sometimes in the spring, when it rains alot, it rises fast.  When the water is down, it is fun to walk up the middle of the creek and look for snakes and other creatures.

Thats all for now.

I really enjoy reading your blog, Matthew! Isn't it wonderful living on the tall-grass prairies??? What a special part of God's creation! I bet you love working with the bison. Someday I'd like to come out and work them with you! :) Keep up the good work, me boy!
