Friday, December 29, 2006 - Living Water
A glorious throne, exalted from the beginning,
is the place of our sanctuary.
O LORD, the hope of Israel,
all who forsake you will be put to shame.
Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust
because they have forsaken the LORD,
the spring of living water.
Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved,
for you are the one I praise. (Jeremiah 17:12-14)
On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." (John 7:37-38)
Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat upon them,
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Revelation 7:16-17)
Jesus is the only way. With Him, we will never be alone. In Him, we will be safe. He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. When we finally get to see Him in heaven, we will know what the words truly mean.
My heart and flesh cry out,
To you the Living God,
Your spirit's water to my soul.
I've tasted and I've seen,
Come once again to me,
I will draw near to You.
For better is one day in Your courts,
Better is one day in Your house,
Better is one day in Your courts,
Than thousands elsewhere.
