HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC!

Posted in My Daily Life

Apple Blossoms Eric Brought Me 05-08Where do I begin??? With the day we found out we were expecting you? Or the day we found out we were expecting our first son? Or when the Dr. told me that ‘there may be some problems’, and I felt God telling me that I can say to this mountain be thou moved and be thou cast into the sea… and the problems were gone that afternoon from the ultrasound screen?

Or should I talk about moving 1500 miles when you were but three months old? Or how rambunctious you are were? Watching you stand down by the fence at two, watching the trains go by, “honking them”.Eric Holding Mr. Bennett

Knowing in my heart that your little two-year-old leg was broken when we took you to the ER, and crying when the Dr. confirmed it…

Seeing you change Hannah’s diaper, then Isaac’s, then Caleb’s, and now Lucy’s. The joy I feel when you laugh with her and coo with her and want to hold her. It gives me hope and a vision of what a great father you will be someday.

Eric Enjoying A Favorite PastimeThe barn chores, cleaning up a room you didn’t mess up. Holding your tongue when you want to let it go. Reading everything you can get your hands on!

Always coming to Mom’s aid when I need handy-man work done and Daddy is at work. Always finding you outside. Always. Riding your bike to check on goats and chickens - or to run the trash out…Kitchen Floor Matt and Rachel, Eric and Hannah

The anticipation of turning eleven. How can you be eleven? Just yesterday you got into the double digits, and now an entire year has passed. Make the most of your time, for it passes much too quickly.

I am so proud of you son. I could reiterate all of the moments like these, and I could not say just how proud I am to be your Momma. Eric Helping Jocelyn Make Her Hope ChestThere aren’t enough words. I love you. I am thankful for these past eleven years and I look forward to so many more I can’t even count those either!

Have a super fantastic blessed birthday, my son!!! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You are an awesome son!

All my love, Mom

My Bible Reading For Today!

Posted in My Daily Life
I thought it was time to update my blog. I want to share with you what I read in the Bible today. I was told to read two chapters of Psalms, but I got so interested that I read 5! Well, I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did. :o)

Psalm 12
1
Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
3The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
4Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
5For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.
6The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
8The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

Psalm 13
1How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Psalm 14
1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
5There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
7Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Psalm 15
1Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Psalm 16
1Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
 2O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

How did you like the Psalms? Tell me some of your favorite Bible chapters and verses. I love to hear them! :o)
Sincerely,

Tribute to My Dad

Posted in My Daily Life

A TRIBUTE TO MY DAD

by Eric Dixon, age 10

I love my dad. He is so special to me because that's what the Bible says he is supposed to be to me.

These are some things my Dad and I do together:

I like to work with him around the house to pick up the yard

I like to work with him in the barn

I like to work with him in the new part

I like to work with him in the garage.

I like to watch movies with him.

I like to watch games with him.

I like to go places with him.

I like to play ball with him and play catch with a baseball with him.

He works all day for us so that we can have places to eat and sleep and have money to pay off the bills and so we can have animals that I love like they are my own children.

My dad is a good driver.

My dad likes to work.

My dad likes to sleep.

My dad likes to build things. He made Isaac a wooden gun, and he is going to make me one too.

I think that he is the best dad that I could ever have. Thank you God.

Love, Eric

My Birthday and My Weekend

Posted in My Daily Life

I had a very happy birthday.
 Eric and cake 10

Mom made an ice cream cake.
Eric ice cream cake 10

I got a personal fan, some money from our neighbor, and I have a couple of things coming from an online order. My best gift so far was the knife Luke Suarez gave me. Thank you Luke!!

Here is the knife:

We went and got hay for the horses and the goats yesterday.

bucklings

We borrowed our neighbor's hitch for the trailer, but when we got there it didn't fit the ball. It was too big for the hitch on the trailer. So we had to borrow the guy's hitch, who we were buying the hay from.

When we got home the van got stuck in the mud in the pasture, because it had rained and the trailer was heavy. We unloaded the hay after getting the van unstuck from the mud, and I got to give the horses some hay.

Later my dad sold some aluminum sheeting. He was going to use it on the barn, but my dad wants to put a different siding on it.

That is all for now.
Sincerely,
 Sir Eric...

TODAY IS:

My 10th BiRtHdAy

From Eric's Mom:
HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY,
MY FIRST-BORN SON!!!

Boy, does he need to blog more, huh?
Well, he does ask, I'll tell you. If we get more computers online, and we don't have to divide the time between 4 of us, he will be very happy to get on here and do just that.

Eric wrote a thank you note yesterday to send to Luke Suarez for the wonderful early bday gift he gave him while they were here. His handwriting is very nice, I might say. Now that he is 10, it will be more beneficial to have him do more copywork.
I will let him get on here and blog and tell you what Luke gave him himself. He would like that.

Right now, he is watching Black Stallion Returns with his sibs. Something else he would like to do a lot of that we have to put a rein on!!

Blessings to you!!!
Jacque

New Baby Sister!

Posted in My Daily Life
Did you hear the news. Mom had the baby yesterday morning at 3:29am. She is so tiny, but she is so cute. We still haven't decided what we're naming her yet.

Here's a picture of her:

Stop by Mom's and say congratulations!

I have been busy carrying water down to the horses and goats. Last Sunday I got my buckling. I named him Elessar that is Elvish for emerald or Elf-Stone.

I am so sorry I haven't been blogging. I have been helping in the house and the barn.

Signed,
Sir Eric

Working Around the House and Barn

Posted in My Daily Life

Hi

I have been wanting to post and wanting to post a blog for a long time. I haven't because my Mom has had other things for me to do here at home.

Some things I do daily are:

~Help take out Pemberley and Blondie (our puppies).

~Clean out the horse stalls with Amanda.

~Shovel the maneur and spread it out.

~Take the maneur to the compost pile.

~Help clean up around the house.

~Take out the trash.

~Burn the paper trash.

~Help Dad put things together, like the new 10x10 oen to let the puppies play in.

~Build barn and stall doors.

~Carry buckets of water down to the horse pens and goat stalls.

~Get fresh straw for Amanda to put into the clean horse stalls.

~Help Jocelyn clean out the 8in. deep hay from the goat pen and spread it around the pasture.

~Move the wood from the goat stall.

~Help hang OSB in the barn when it's cold. -I did help Mom take some down the other day.

~Today I helped Jocelyn give some dewormer to Chloe and Heidi our adult does.

These are some of the things I have been doing, sometimes everyday. I also am working on my math.

Pretty soon, it will be time to till and rake and plant the garden, and I will be out doing that with my sisters and little brothers and Mom, too.

It takes a lot of work to have animals and a garden! I am glad we do it, though!

Sincerely, Eric
