pregnancy week by week

• May. 23, 2008
I did something I never pictured myself doing yesterday!

My DH bought a motorcycle this week. I wasn't completely on board with the idea of getting one when I know the money he used could've been used for other things. I have to look at like this though. He has always provided everything we needed or that I have asked for without much in return so getting a motorcycle for him after years of meeting his family's needs only seemed fair.

Well, yesterday, my MIL watched the girls while DH and I went riding on the motorcycle. I never would have pictured myself on the back of one but I have to admit it was fun! That was the first time in months that we had gone off completely by ourselves. I did enjoy every minute of it! Hoping to go again soon since I won't be able to go riding much longer. There will come a point where my pregnant belly will prevent it! LOL

Hi,
My name is Josephine. I just came upon your blog and read about your husband buying a motorbike and the two of you going off by yourselves. I just want to tell you, please don't hesitate to go off with him by yourselves and enjoy that special time with him. You see, my husband was killed on mother's day when he was hit head on and his truck exploded and he was burnt beyond recognition. The past two weeks have been a nightmare for my children and I. So, please spend as much time as you can with him doing the things that he likes to do, and don't forget to tell him how much you love him and how much he means to you. You won't be sorry. In fact why don't you go on over and tell him how much you love him and give him a big kiss. You never know when it might be your last.

I used to ride motorcycles when my husband and I were dating... now, I wouldn't dream of it. Isn't that funny? I thought they were so fun and free feeling. Your post brought back many great memories.

Have a great holiday weekend.

I told dh that I can't ride until I know we have a will in place and we are in agreement of who would take the kids!

Glad you had a good time

It's a sense of being free isn't it? It's been a long time since I rode on a motorcycle but everytime I see one I think....ahhh to be riding in the wind!

I found your blog by using the "Random Blog" button at the top of each page. I never tried that before!
Glad I stumbled across your blog.

Complete in Him,
Shari

Motorcycle riding

Posted by Patty

Hey there! I was going through the blogs on our yahoo list (just4homeschoolfamilies) and decided to visit. Like another lady before me, I just want to encourage you to take that ride with hubby whenever you can. I haven't suffered her loss but I imagine that when he bought that motorcycle, he was thinking of exactly doing what you guys did -- taking his baby for a ride, just the two of you alone :) For my husband, it's sports. Not as "risky" but for some women, it's a nightmare! But I go along to games, sit on the couch and watch games, root right alongside him. And his passion has made it fun for me. Also, I have fond motorcycle memories but would make most moms cringe. My dad used to pick me up from daycare on his motorcycle and I would ride on the back of it, with a big ol' helmet on my head as I was only 4. But I loved it!! I can't imagine letting my child do that but... enjoy this time with him while you can. You'll create fun memories!
