Butterflies- Their Hatching!
Today the Painted Lady Butterfly chrysalises that we were growing started to hatch!
5 butterflies have hatched and 2 haven't yet. We will have 7 in all when they are all done hatching.
Mama read that they turn themselves into liquid while in the chrysalis and then change into butterflies.
Here is a poem I made up about the butterfly.
Caterpillar
Growing, Ugly
Squirms, Grows, Spins
Coccoons, Larvea, Wings, Eggs
Flaps, Dries, Flies
Pretty, Gracefull
Butterfly
Butterflies take a long time to dry out and even Butter-by who was the first one to hatch and hatched about 8:00 this morning is not flying much yet. The butterflies were in a little cup that had a lid on it this morning but we transfered the butterflies to Forests big huge tarrarium to hatch and live for a little while.
You will probably hear more about the butterflies because not all have hatched yet! It will be an adventure to see all the butterflies hatch!
