Here is a poem I just made up.
Travel
When we travel we have fun,
looking at things 'till we're done.
Musuems, Zoos, and tourist traps,
make up a great travel plan.
When some travel they make up,
a plan on how they'll get somewhere.
Go by car, or plaine or sea,
something new each way to see.

Mama gave me the choice of writing a poem for my writing assignment today and so, of course, I chose it!
Thoughts
This world is full of lots of things,
Things to make pleasant thoughts,
Like roses, smiles, a little child,
And Jesus near and dear.
So when you find,
The thoughts your thinking,
Turning sour like lime,
Just think about a pleasant thing,
You'll find your thinking pleasant thoughts again!

Feb. 29, 2008 A poem I like
Here is a poem I have memorized and really enjoy. I have also added another verse on to it! The original work by Shel Silverstein is in green and my verse is brown.
Tree house
A tree house, a free house, a secret you and me house,
A high up in the leafy branches, cozy as can be house!
A street house, a neat house, Be sure and wipe your feet house!
Is not my kind of house at all, Lets go live in a tree house! By Shel Silverstein
A street house, RV house, or microscopic flea house,
I don't like any one of those! Please, build me a tree house!! By Emily Rose
P.S. my Wildflowers in Winter kids art contest entry is just a scroll down and it has a poem in it too! |

Jan. 31, 2008 Wildflowers in Winter Poem
I have decided to do a Poem on Wildflowers for mama's Wildflowers In Winter theme.
I enjoyed writing it.
I hope you like my poem!!
I’m Just a Little Wildflower
I’m Just a little wildflower,
In a great field o’ grass,
Nobody seems to care I’m there,
They say I’m just a weed.
I wish I were a sunflower,
To stand up high and sing,
I’d show the world there’s
Always something small,
Just to smile about.
If I was Jack-In-The-Pulpit,
I’d preach to all the world,
“God loves us all, Times good or bad,
He loves us all the same”.
If I could be a daisy dear,
‘Most girls tall or small,
Would weave me into pretty wreathes,
A crown to sit upon there hair.
But I’m just a little dandylion,
Most people don’t like me,
I’ll be as pretty as can be,
I know my daddy still appreciates me.

Oct. 25, 2007 A few poems I composed
I composed a few poems yesterday when we went on a fall exploration field trip.
I made these both on 10-24-07.
What do you think?
I enjoyed writing them!
Be still
Be still whispereth the acorns,
Be still and know that God is good.
Be still and look rustleth the leaves.
Be still and see Gods handiwork.
Be still, Be still all nature cries
Be still.
Be still and see the colors
in Gods paint box,
Be still and you will see
Great things.
Fall
In fall we see quite vividly
the colors God hath made!

I memorized this poem and I really like it.
Bed in Summer
In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle light,
In summer quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping in the tree
Or hear the grown-up peoples feet
Still walking past me in the street.
And does it not seam hard to you
When all the sky is clear and blue
And I should like so much to play
To have to go to bed by day?

Apr. 11, 2007 A buzzing all around
Just like the little butterfly, a flit, a flut, a flutter all around.
Just like a little flutterfly, a flut, a flounce, a bouncing all around.
Just like the little buzzing bee, a zzzt, bbzzt, a buzzin' all around.
