Sep. 11, 2008 - Another Book Review

A Journey To The new world

The Diary Of  Remember Patience Whipple

This book was great!  I recomend it to any one.  It was about this girl who was on the Mayflower.  On the ship she was kind of bored.

And If I tell you any more you will know the whole story!!!   But it was a vary good book.  It was sad in some parts though.  I loved it!!

Bye,

P.S. It is in the Dear America series.

Sep. 4, 2008 - Book Review

The Double Life of Pocahontas

If you have not read this book  and watched the Pocahontas movie I suggest that you don't read this book.  The movie is so much better than the book.  And the book had a lot more detail.  But the detail was kind of  bad.  It was not in the movie, but it is better left out.  Some People  may like the book better than the movie.  But I personally liked the movie way better.

Aug. 21, 2008 - Our Camping Trip

Even though the camping trip was before Shaker Town ( and back in May),  I will still tell about it.

We rode back to our campsite on the horses & the dads in the truck.  We got there about 5:30 Sunday night, but we weren't there 40 minutes and then we had to go to church.  We got back around 7:30.  It was 9:30 before our supper of hamburgers, fries, and deep fried carrots were ready!  After supper we went into the tent got into our pajamas and played 2 or 3 card games.  Then we did funny skits and then went to bed.  Next thing I new I was up at quarter to 6 in the morning!  Three other friends were with me in the tent - 2 my age and 1 13-year-old.  Elizabeth ( the 13 year old) was up and putting away her bedding already!!!  While breakfast was cooking we went hiking.  And imagine we saw a turkey!!!

After breakfast  the dads went to do hay  while we girls started carving marshmallow sticks.  And then the fire went out!!  We tried and tried to get it started but we just couldn't.  So we had to go back to my house and have our lunch there.  We ate hot dogs, baked beans and chips.  Then my mom made us take a shower before we went back to the camp site.  She told us we had to rest once we got there because we were so tired.

While we were waiting on the dads, we went hiking and made clover chain necklaces and garlands.  When they got back, we started the fire and began supper.  We smart to start it earlier this time so we wouldn't be eating so late.  We ate stew and bicuits.  After a late night the night before, we slept much better the second night.

Rain threatened in the morning, so we packed up camp and brought the pancake batter for breakfast (and the sausage) and brought them to my house for my mom to make.  We were very tired and very busy cleaning up all the mess.

We had a time fitting all the boxes, suitcases, pillows and blankets in our van as we carted everyone home.  It was an awesome camping trip and we hope to do it again this fall!

Jul. 9, 2008 - Shakertown

3 days after our camping trip (by the way it was awesome!!!!!)  We went to Shakertown.  We didn't tour it though  because it was $14.00 a person.  But we did bring the horses.  Papaw Bill, Marilyn, mom, dad, and my 2 brothers went.  The 1st day we left home around lunch & got there around 2:00.  Then we unloaded the horses and checked in.  Before supper at the hotel restraunt we had 2 hours to ride the trails.  They were beautiful!!!!!  We went and washed  up for supper after our ride.  We had reservations at the restraunt  but we still had to wait about 15 minutes.  After supper we went and they have a recreation center so we played there and then we had to get some sleep , but it was still about 10:00 untill we went to bed.  The next day after breakfast papaw Bill, caleb(my younger brother,8)  & I  went out on our horses through the trails again.  This time we saw a small but beautiful waterfall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   !!!!!!!

Apr. 29, 2008 - Closer

Our camping trip is getting closer every day.  I 'm exited in a way but still I'm afraid that we won't  have enough time to get every thing together and/or forget somthing.  But I'm sure that won't happen though.  We have a huge list of stuff to buy and so we'll have to earn a lot of money .  But I am not the only one who is buying it , so the other 3 of them will have to pitch in as much as me too.  Probably in the end we'll have spent $55!  It will be an expensive venture!

Apr. 25, 2008 - Splash Rocket

We have what you call a water splash rocket.  It is really fun!!!  What it does is this:  it has a control lever that controls the water pressure,  and that hooks to a hose that goes to the rocket stand.  And the plastic rocket sits on its stand.  When you put the water control on high it goes very high into the air and comes down again.  But sometimes we try to send it up & catch it when it comes down.

Here are some pics.

Here is my brother and Lilly with the rocket.

And here is my baby brother trying to get a drink

at the"fountain".
