Today marks the first day after my lasik surgery. One of the most memorable moments was when I went into surgery on Fri. I met the asst. for the surgery. He says I had the same prescription as you. Filled me in on some stuff and continued to talk to me. I could not see him because I was no longer wearing my glasses. They did my right eye first. When they were "finishing" I started to see clearer and clearer and there he was! Amazing to see a face that you could not see previously. So today I had my one day follow up.... I now have 20/25 and it is expected to improve. What a miracle!!! God is good! After 28 almost 29 years of wearing glasses...they are no more!!!!! |

Well a landmark has a occured. My almost reading Kindergardner has graduated. My spelling to my dh days are almost over. *sigh* It was great though and I am glad she is excited.

My little boy has been such a stinker lately. *Sigh* He has been throwing things at people and just around in general. So obviously in trouble for these things. Well today he got mad at sissie and threw her brand new *Pet Shop Rabbit* from Grandma & Papa under her bed. So she goes in after it. Her earring snags |

Thursday at Wal Mart my dd finally asked to get her ears pierced. Dh and I had agreed when she asked we would do it. She is making a silly face but you can see her new earrings. |

I was born in Sioux City IA. Same hospital as my mom.. I lived in the midwest till I was 9. I moved to California. During my tenure there I have lived in Bakersfeld, LA, San Diego. All that to say you can take the girl out of the country but not the country out of the girl!!!! Go Hawekeyes!!!!
My dad is a Bolivian by birth. I say that because he speaks English FLUENTLY, has a Masters degreee, wont' speak Spanish JUST BECAUSE, AND came to this countrry LEGALLY!!!!!!!!!! AND I will add this....NO I don't speak Spanish. Oh I can understand the basics but NOPE no Spanish here! In fact a dear Spanish teacher (who was a minister in CV) said to me "Lanza stick with your mother tongue and I don't mean Spanish!" LOL no this was not a bad thing but a relief to me! I might add I read Spanish quite well and I can "think" spanish but it just does not come OUT right LOL!
My thoughts.....don't know english - learn. DON'T - well you are LAZY!
Do you go to France, Iraq, Spain, Netherlands etc and expect them to have english documents for you??? UM NO!!!!! THEY DON'T!!!!!!!!
Welcome to America....learn english, learn the road rules and learn the democratic process.....get legal and WELCOME! |

Tonight I am going to learn to increase and decrease! I have finished my scarf and looking forward to this next project. Having fun!
Also I received a second haircut from the new lady I am going to. AWESOME!!!! My hair has never been so healthy or looked so good. Frizzies are gone and it is so shiny. Of course that might be the white hair reflecting! LOL! I finally really like my hair.
Have a new craft/art, awesome family, great hair cut, great church. What more could a girl need? |
|
Tonight was my second class at Michael's. I learned to Purl! The teacher I have is really good. I really really like knitting! |
|
Zachary has been found!!! Please continue to pray for him and his family!!!! |

So a couple of weeks ago after going to knittinghelp.com I signed up for a class at Michael's for beginnning knitting. I had seen on a friends dd's blog some very cute things. Then another friend really started doing it and made some really cute girl socks. Then another friend (these friends all know each other) started knitting too!!! So I go and I really like it and how much more you can do with knitting than crocheting. So now I have bought another set of needles and some dpn's (double pointed needles) AND I signed up for class 2. What's a girl to do??!!! If you can't beat 'em join 'em LOL!!! |

Thank you all for the kind words about my health. I am feeling somewhat better but will have a follow up on Tuesday.
We are headed off to Tucson to visit with some of my dh's family who are headed there. Not really happy about this. I wonder how it is they only gave us a week and half notice. They did this at Christmas time when dh's sister was flying in. How long did she have the plane ticket? How long did these Co. relatives know they were coming to AZ? Okay rant off. I am going with a smile (cuz my teeth are gritting) LOL! I did get a nice hotel room. I figured if I am going I might as well enjoy the room!! |

I ignore the obvious signs that the "cold" is now a sinus infection. Finally went to the dr. after seeing my blood pressure in one of the store machines (been high at the dr's 2 times). I have a sinus infection that has made it all the way to my ears. What fun! I also have been put on a low sodium diet. Thankfully no meds as of yet. In a couple of weeks I go back and have full bloodwork done to check on my thyroid and UGH!!! my cholesterol. However, I am doing this in preperation to start working out seriously. I need to lose weight. For my health and so that I am around for my family and my niece and nephew. Anyway just a little frustrated that I continued to ignore the "little" health issues and now they are becoming "big" issues. Where is that kicking emoticon?? |

Two things that is I walked 2 miles with Leslie Sansone and I cut my hair. Not short but definitely shorter
|
|
So there it is. Just the busyness of life and such. Nothing major happening. |
|
|
|
Very normal for me! In fact I talk to myself quite frequently throughout my tasks during the day. It has becomes so normal that I hear from my nephew or niece "shay shay (my nickname) are you talking to me or yourself?" ROFL
But on the serious side....I have a dear dear friend that is going through a difficult time. The kind of person that you know that God must have split the "atom" between you two and sent you to different mothers! Or as Oscar the Shark Slayer would say, "my brothah (sistah) from another mothah" I wish I could wave a magic wand and say ALL BETTER! I hate not being able to say or do something to help! I pray but part of me wants to go and shake a few people. SIGH Wishing I could bring her joy back but I know that God has a crown for her as she runs this race. Goes through this trial. James 1:12 says Blessed is the man who perserveres.................can't wait to see her crown.
And on the other side, I have another dear dear friend, who is slowly watching her mother die. The most precious of mothers. The kind who that Proverbs 31 talks about. However, she is not saved and more than anything that is my fervent prayer. That she believes before she passes on. My friend is hurting and losing something so precious and I can't help. This is the part of life that really stinks. I will say this though, my friend shared some things that her mom would do. One memory was "fixing" mom's hair so beautifully WITH LOTION. She said she never realized it was before mom went to take a shower but she let them style her hair. It really struck me as I am one who HATES HATES HATES having anyone touch/play with my hair. So in honor of her mother, the other day my dd said "oh mommy let me brush your hair!" So I sat there for 15 torturous minutes and let her do her thing all the while thinking of my friend's mother and praying. That was for you my name twin.
All this to say I hate being helpless and watching those I love suffer. They hurt and I hurt for them. Sometimes it just stinks ya know? |

Ok... this blog exercise says to bold face the states you have been to... underline the states you have lived in.....
|
|
I implemented my MOTH. While I don't have it all down or follow it completely
PS Kim I did finally answer your questions (I *think* ) in the comment section |
|
No I did not turn my comments off. I am not real sure why they were not working. And I did not realize some people were just not able to comment. I have checked and re-checked my settings. So hopefully it will work!!!
To answer your questions Kim our local ISP is huge we have several Coops going in different areas of the city I live in. The East County (mine) got so huge they split it into Class day 1 (takes place 1st and 3rd Thursday) and Class Day II (2nd and 4th Thursday). All mom's are required at least to work 2 periods during the 3 period day. The break up of ages is like this Preschool and babies (only for mom's who are teaching, Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-12. Everyone pools their resources and teaches classes that they are best suited to. We have everything from Arts & crafts to Chemistry! I usually send my dc to what I won't or don't like to teach at home. Those range from Spanish, arts & crafts, real art, Social Studies, Math fun, PE, and Drama. In CA we do have the requirements for taking the Ca History usually done in 4th. So it is nice to have those done by other people. It is pretty much run by volunteer coordinators and a volunteer principal. |

And SHE DOES NOT STAY STILL! Yes she ripped out her week old earring. Thankfully 20 minutes later I got it back in BACKWARDS!!! I told her in a couple of weeks we would change it back but for now it was staying!!! She has been so careful and I felt so bad for her. She is fine now but I am thankful it wasn't worse.

The legs are metal this time. no more plastic!!!
