Everyone worked hard at school today.  The kids enjoyed the Hymn we are studying.  But the folksong made them sad.  Well, it was about the war, so, yes, that is sad.  Daughter wasn't found of the Liszt selection either because she said that it was sad.  My children don't like sad things, can you tell?  My husband is very excited about his class.  Man, I wish he hadn't had to go to public school.  Then, he would know how gifted and intelligent he really is.  Of course, he doesn't believe me.  Which stinks.  But God really gave him many great gifts.  We are pulling down and putting away our Christmas.  Tonight is Awana's.  It is create your own theme.  i think my daughter and I are going as cooks.  Or Oakland Raider fans.  She wanted to bring one of our cats to church.  I'm not sure that would be too appreciated.  last night the kids slept in their tent under the table in the frontroom.  Parents slept in their own bed and own room.  We served Daddy breakfast in bed for no reason at all.  Just cause we love him.  Have a good day.

Well, our new schedule is going well.  Now if I can just stick with it.  Seriously, there is not enough time or energy to teach or show my children everything I would love for them to know.  I have to leave that up to their Father in heaven Who knows what is best.  I want to lose weight, I have to ose weight.  I MUST LOSE WEIGHT!!!  We did school today, even though it was Sunday because I overslept yesterday.  Now, the kids are playing together, hubby is again at work, I'm blogging.  Anyways, have a good day.

We had a rough start this morning.  But everything turned out okay.  The kids got all their work done.  YEAH!  Hubby got most of his stuff done!  I didn't get everything done, but my list is a bit out of this world anyways!  We also did some great family devotions and couple devotions.  My aunt and brother sent me some pictures.  I have really got to learn that, the ability to put pictures on the computer.  Have a great day!

How was everyone's Christmas?? Ours was wonderful.  We had a nice meal, spent a lot of time worshipping the Lord Jesus, playing games, and watching tv.  We had fun!  Daughter caught bronchitis.  Today we took her to the doctor.  We went to Coatco for a few grocerys.  We went to Winco to pay a few bills.  I'm working on laundry.  We ate leftovers from yesterday.  We are going to watch Akeelah and the Bee.  Dad hasn't seen it yet.  Everyone have a great day.

I woke up this morning.  Actually, my sister-in-law called and woke me up.  My husband stayed at the hotel last night because the snow got worst.   My daughter's friend spent the night again.  My son is playing game cube already.  He redeemed a coupon, so he gets to play for 2 hours today.  The girls just woke up.  They are playing a game where they have to keep their feet off the ground.  Anyways, my devotions was talking about the song by William Dix- "What Child is This".  In its entireity, it just made me cry.

What Child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

It is really awesome to think what love God has for us.  Makes you want to be a better person.  God bless His children today.  Have a great day.

Son and I woke up at 7:30 a.m.  Daughter and Hsband woke up 30 minutes later.  Did laundry and took care of cats while kids got dressed and got bedrooms together.  Had oatmeal for breakfast.  Did Advent calendar, prayer chain, and Read John Chapter 3.  We also made crowns to cast at Jesus feet like the elders in Revelations 4.  Did our family devotions.  Husband set up appointments for children's doctors while children spent time alone with the Lord.  Parents also got dressed and had personal devotions.  Worked on Christmas town and puzzle.  Cleaned bedrooms, God's room, stairs, laundry room, and school room.  Had lunch in front of Touched by an Angel.  Did a Christmas worksheet, found out why Santa has different names, and what the nutcracker has to do with Christmas.  Sang an old Christmas hymn.  Found out that Arthur is no longer on at 3:00 so, son is playing in his room and daughter is watching Little House on the Prarie while I blog.  Considering seriously doing the curriculum from Ambleside Online starting in January.  There is so much to learn and so little time.  Have a great day.

Today is the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.  My son is studying WW II.  I used to be stationed at Pearl Harbor.  So was my husband.  We miss Hawaii.  However, I don't think we could have done the homeschooling there because it was pretty costly.  But, it sure is beautiful.  I haven't been feeling so hot this week.  My kids have been  real troopers, though, and allowed me to rest.  They made me a power point card today.  It is really cool.  My husband had to work.  My son asked us to all pray for his safe trip home.  The kids played game cube, Monoploy, and watched tv.  Now they are eating snack.  I filled out a few Christmas cards, watched TV, played Game cube, called my husband, talked to the neighbor, and am now blogging.  I hope to go to the store tonight and get cake mix to make cupcakes for church and a Jesus Birthday party for the neighbors.  Have a great week, everyone.

Today my husband had to work.  So, we went to church last night and stayed home today.  I slept very late because I stayed up last night playing games online.  I like the Dream Date games and Diner Dash ones.  My son is considering very seriously getting me another computer game.  His sister and he got money from my brother's family last night.  He wants to spend that on me.  I'm not too keen on it, but it really amazing that he wants to show my that love and kindness.  We played a couple computer games together today.  Right now, the kids are working on the kitchen.  We don't do much on Sunday except goof off.  But I will need a clean kitchen tonight to cook dinner.  We are having spicy chicken and rice, with vegtables and water.  School is really going great, finally.  I'm on a schedule that we are all happy with.  Oh, here come the kids!!!!  Working in the kitchen together is not always easy.  They asked me what they should do to stop fighting.  I said, "Don't."  They said that they didn't think that was enough motiviation.  So I said, "Punishment!"  They said that was incentive enough and now they are downstairs, working.  I know, probably not the best answer.  But they wanted attention, and, the fact is, I need the dishes done and now.  Don't judge too harshly, moms.  See, while I was typing, my daughter came up again to "try to reason with me."  I told her I just wanted my kitchen done, end of story.  Great thing is, I haven't lost my temper.  Praise God!  Last night was the roles for husbands and wives.  The pastor really did a great job.  He was sensitive and encouraging.  And practical.

What a morning!  God is so gracious and kind to me.  We went and got a couple of free coffees before going to our Truth project class.  It was about how the church and the family match the order of God's design when it follows God's design.  Like husbands loving their wives like Jesus loves the church like God loves His Son.  Like wives submitting to their husbands as the leaders submit to Jesus like Jesus submitted to His Father.  Like the children honoring their parents like the church body honors the leaders and Christ.  It was a great class.  Then came church.  Our pastor is still talking in Colossians.  He encouraged us to replace the bad things we do with a good (Godly) thing.  So instead of trying not to be angry, try kindness.  Remember, we need to stay connected to the Lord, and the only way we can do anything is in Jesus.  Apart from Him, we can do nothing.  I got the CD.  It was really encouraging and tangible.  Glory be to God.  My son blogged today.  He was complimented twice on his attitude, helpfullness, and manners.  Right now, my children are making paperclip objects and playing with magnets.  My husband is watching football.  And I'm blogging.  We ate some leftover potato and cheese soup (my daughter and I).  My son had nothing, and my husband had a sandwich.  Please pray for our brothers and sisters in the world who are suffering persecution today.  Please pray for our government.  Please pray for our churches in the USA.  Please pray for our children.  Please pray for our families.  And keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Have a great week.  I pray that all who read this blog this week would know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

God is in control.  Sometimes we just don't get what we want, which can be a hard pill to swallow.  Please be in pray for the United States.  And please don't give up hope.  If you are a Christian, please keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Don't be dismayed.  Be strong and courageous.  God will never leave us or forsake us.  Read your Bible and gather strength.  Jesus never changes.  Walk upright.  And, smile, God loves us.

25 days until my birthday.  Yep, Thanksgiving day this year.  It isn't that way every year.  Just every four years.  My hubby is, of course, watching football.  My kids got their friends over.  They have known these boys all their lives, mostly.  So there is alot of noise and excitement because the ground outside is a little rainiy.  Today at church, the pastor talked about how Christians get conned with legalism, mysticism, and asceticism.  It was good.  Basically, Christians do what they do because of their love for Christ, not for salvation or to be right with God.  We should be putting personal restrictions on our lives because of relationship, much like we put restrictions on our lives out of love for our spouses, kids, friends, church, and the lost.  Here are a few restrictions I do:  For my husband, I don't smoke because it isn't fair he has to kiss an ashtray or live with the awful smell.  For my kids, I don't work outside the home because I feel like they really need me more than I need money.  For my friends, I keep my distance with their husbands because their marriage is very precious, more important than me having male firends.  For my church, I don't dress in a way that would offend others because it isn't right and just plain rude.  For the lost, I don't drink because they may not see that as a Christian thing to do.  Actually, all of these self-imposed restrictions can interchange themself and do.  In other words, I keep my distance with my friend's husbands not only for my friends, but my husband, my kids, and the lost.  satan is tricky and can decieve well meaning friends of the oppisite gender.  I can't go out and force these restricitions on others.  It isn't right or loving.  The stay at home mom is my conviction, but it isn't other really great moms.  So, it was really good for me to hear this message.  God is really good with the way He reaches out to me.  By the way, the reference point was Colossians 2.  Have a great week

Today is my niece's first birthday.  Unfortunately, we won't be able to be there with her because they live in a different state.   How do you like my new avatar?  Someone had switched my other one.  I don't know how.  I asked my son, but he said that he didn't.  Today I taught 1st- 3rd graders at church.  We had a good time.  The kids are trading toys today.  My husband is watching football.  I want to go to the library in a little bit, after I blog.  Have a great week, everyone.

My daughter's party went off very well.  The girls had such a great time.  I'm not sure what I was whining about.  You'd think that I would learned by now that God is faithful, all the time.  ERG!  Last night was our marriage class.  It was pretty special because everyone got to share their wedding pictures.  Each story was so different, and God was so faithful.  This morning we went to our Truth project class.  The topic was evolution and deception.  Whew.  How the liar is cunning and deceptive.  Pray for our world, everyone.  It is God alone Who can save us.  Church was on Colossian and staying rooted in Christ.  Our friends came to church and brought their extended family.  The kids are playing a game my daughter got for her birthday.  My husband is watching football.  I'm blogging.  Tonight I will be making stuffed chicken.  I don't usually cook like this on Sunday.  But the chicken is defrosted and ready to be cooked.  Have a great week, everyone.
