SWISS CHARD & LEEKS!

 I GREW SWISS CHARD THIS YEAR....I'VE NEVER GROWN...NEVER EVEN HAD A NIBBLE OF IT..IT JUST LOOKED VERY COOL AND DECORATIVE!  AFTER SPEAKING WITH MY AUNT JANET, SHE EXPLAINED TO ME HOW SHE MAKES IT...SO, I TRIED IT AND TWEEKED AND ADDED A BIT... 

I FELT LIKE RACHEL RAY...ONLY NOT AS PERKY...  I DID TWO ROUNDS OF OLIVE OIL, PLUNKED A BIG BUNCH OF CHARD, GARLIC, LEEKS, ZUCCHINI AND CARROTS IN THE PAN...  WILTED THE CHARD AND ADDED MY HOMEMADE HERBAL SALT...  AND KEPT STIRRING AND MIXING....  THEN...I SPRINKLED HOMEMADE BREADCRUMBS ON TOP OF IT!

I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE HOW MUCH THE CHARD SHRUNK DOWN!  UNBELIEVABLE!  THIS IS THE FINISHED SIDE DISH...  I SERVED IT ON TOP OF RICE PILAF AND MARINATED GRILLED CHICKEN. 

VERY, VERY EXCELLENT!

I love throwing veggies in a pan and cooking them. It has been my fav thing to eat lately. I raid the garden for whatever is ripe, grab some veggies from the fridge, chop and toss in a pan. I love summer & I'm loving the veggies! Your swiss chard dish looks yummy!
