Contest

May. 6, 2008

Alright, time for a contest! Here's the rules:

Blog about this contest, and you'll be entered in to a contest to win a Free DVD from Answers in Genesis Called "CREATION/EVOLUTION Does It Matter What We Believe?"

This video is one of the best I've seen as far as real, hard evidence why creation follows, but evolution doesn't. It explains why evolution violates laws of physics, and creation follows them to the T. It explains why there really was a worldwide flood, and why it really matters that we don't compromise our beliefs (not to mention why we don't need to!)

From the cover:

"In This DVD, Popular creationist speaker Mike Riddle explains biblical and scientific reasons why we should not compromise God's Word with the idea of evolution. This compelling illustrated lecture reveals:

  • Biblical and scientific evidences for a worldwide flood
  • A look at the days of creation and why the context, grammar, and genealogies support literal days
  • A comparison of creation and evolution with scientific laws
  • Why it matters what we believe and the cost of compromise
Bonus Material
  • Interviews with John Morris, Ph.D. (President, ICR), Ken Ham (President, AIG), Douglas Kelly, Ph.D., Andy McIntosh, Ph.D., Terry Mortenson, Ph.D., Steven Boyd, Ph.D.
  • Scenic video of God's Creation
  • Education: Complete lesson plans for this DVD are available at www.Train2Equip.com

Yes I'm alive :P

May. 1, 2008

Hey everyone! Sorry for not posting much lately... Haven't really had the urge to blog I guess :P

I've posted a couple of entries on my Other Blog in the past few days, so if you want to know what's been going on, you can read there if you want :)

By the way... it's a lot easier for me to keep up with you guys if you publish your rss feed on your blog (most of you already do, but a few don't) :) If you want to enable that, you just go in to "settings" then go to "site feed" and you can tell it to publish from there.

Soo anyways, I'll hopefully be keeping up better now if I can. Hope you all are doing well :D

Alrighty, time for a tag

Mar. 8, 2008

1) Link to the person that tagged you. (2) Post the rules on your blog. (3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. (4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. (5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

alrighty, javanuts tagged me, and here's some quirks

1. I put notes to myself on my ceiling
2. I like going to bed late, and getting up early; unfortunately the two don't mix
3. I like randomness. I dislike finding things systematically usually, unless I'm in a focused mood.
4. Whenever the microwave turns on and I'm next to it, I think about nuclear bombs and fried brain cells.
5. The person responsible for naming our dog "Morty" (short for Mortimer) was me.
6. Either I'm going to be a majority or a minority, but I don't think I'll tag anyone. Actually, go ahead, be random! Pick yourself if you want to!

There ya go. End of story.

The First HSB "App"? Home School Digg-it

Mar. 7, 2008

Well, I think this may be the first HSB app released(although I can't be totally sure).

I've been coding this for a little while, and I think it's about done. It's called "Home School Digg-It" And it's basically a Digg-style rating script for Home School Blogs and Websites. The reason it's an Application for HSB is, I've set up the random blogging to work with the script.

So now you can get a rating on what random blogs you go to. It's measured in "Diggs" just like Digg.com(very similer script), so there's just a number of points given to each page.

Go to: Home School Digg-It and check it out! Give me feedback on what you think could be improved, and submit lots of sites! :D

Waking Up To The Alarm

Jan. 24, 2008

I don't have a patricularly annoying alarm. Well, it beeps and all, but not annoyingly or loudly enough to wake me up when it first beeps. So, in light of this, I'll state that I take a little while to wake up to my alarm; This brings me to the funny story of the morning.

This morning was no different than most, except I was dreaming, and I remembered it! Why? Well you have my good friend Mr. Alarm Clock to thank for that! (Thanks 'Larm!) So anyways, on to the story. I was dreaming lightly, because there was this nagging noise in the room saying "Beep! Beep! Beep!" What could this mean? A cryptic message from a far away galaxy? Not exactly....

It was (oh duh) the Alarm Clock!

So now that I'm hearing this alarm clock, naturally it comes in to my dreams and makes itself at home! "I'll just take the spare room!" It would have said. Actually it was just saying "Beep beep beep." So anyways, I let it in, and it started playing mind tricks on me.

"Turn it off!" Was the thought I had. Pretty good one don't you think? I thought it was, so I proceeded to, in my dreamy state, turn it off! Fine and dandy; turn over in my bed, reach for the switch and turn it off. "Now I can go back to sleep!" Right? Ummm wrong.

You see, I didn't realize it yet, but the problem with this scenario was that I wasn't really awake. All of this was done in dreamworld. So when I turned off the alarm, the noise didn't stop!

Now I have to think up where that noise is comming from. "Ah ha! Must be [name omitted]'s alarm!" So I went and turned his alarm off, which was, conveniently placed on top of the wooden bunkbed in my room.

The noise didn't stop!!!

This is when my senses finally kicked in; I finally realized, after drifting slightly in to wakefulness "I'm asleep!"

Yes, I was asleep. Not only was I asleep, but I was sleeping, thinking I was influencing my world when, I probably wasn't even moving at all. So, with this new found knowledge, I wake up, and turn off the alarm. Silence. Ahhh finally!

And that was funny.... Laugh.

Uhm, I'm not sure what else to post on? There's not a bunch happening right now really. :)
