TS Hannah on the way.....
It's a TS not a full fledged hurricane. Yes it is a potential threat, we won't know till tomorrow night when it's supposed to touch down. As for my friends in the Northern coast states, you'll more than likely get rain. The hardest hit thus far would be the countries and states on the Southern coast.
On to a mini devotional.
What is the definition of a missionary? According to Merriam-Webster: 2 a: a ministry commissioned by a religious organization to propagate its faith or carry on humanitarian work b: assignment to or work in a field of missionary enterprise c (1): a mission establishment (2): a local church or parish dependent on a larger religious organization for direction or financial support dplural : organized missionary work e: a course of sermons and services given to convert the unchurched or quicken Christian faith.
This in short is true. What comes to mind when you hear or think of the word "missionary"? One that goes off to a foreign land to proclaim the Gospel...... it's much more than that. A missionary in short is one that proclaims the Good News anywhere, even in your neighborhood. You and I can are missionaries every day, by being as a Christian example. When a non believer sees a Christian, that person will normally think "there is something different about this person and I would like to know what it is". Over the past few weeks I have had a few witnessing chances and have been blessed to have been granted those experiences.
1 Peter 3:15-16--15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
What about pleasing the Lord and man?
2 Corinthians 8:21--21for we (A)have regard for what is honorable, not only in (B)the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
There are three types of people:
1. Those that don't do right because they don't care
2. Those that care to do what is right so that they won't get in to trouble.
3. Those that care to do what is right because it pleases the Lord.
What is right isn't always popular. Have you heard of the book titled "When People are BIG and God is small". It's a great book. It's on how to overcome peer pressure and the fear of man. Jerry Bridges also has a book on multiple topics also dealing with this. God bless,

Academics first.....
As with the school year comes new things to be learned. I know that blogging is a part of everyone's lives here on HSB including mine. But school should come first. I will blog and for those who are on my IM, I won't be on as much. I want to focus on academics and put blogging and IMs on the back-burners. Don't get me wrong, I love blogging and chatting with friends but it's all prioritized. School first then everything else falls in order.
1 Corinthians 10:31--31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or (A)whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
God bless,

Growing by the numbers.....
Abortion. A practice that's becoming a common place in our society. Pretty much since Rove v.s Wade, abortions have been legal. Women's rights movements and doctors and socialistic prople repealing bans, leading up to now. They claim that the mother has the "right" to choose to have an abortion and also clam that the child within it's a human being until it's out of the womb. That's just an excuse to have one. My grandma, who no longer works as of current, worked at a clinic where she and many others would convince young girls, and older, not to have an abortion. Many a time were they successful. We too as Christian teens can also have an impact, by setting a Godly example and writing our representatives. Before I go, here are some facts:
The following facts are given by the Guttmacher Institute (Planned Parenthood) concerning abortion in America.
Forty-nine percent of pregnancies among American women are unintended; 1/2 of these are terminated by abortion.
In 2002, 1.29 million abortions took place, down from an estimated 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2002, more than 42 million legal abortions occurred.
Each year, 2 out of every 100 women aged 15-44 have an abortion; 48 percent of them have had at least one previous abortion.

After that's done......
Have you ever thought on what you'll do after High School? Any plans after your done with that? I plan, Lord willing, to go to a two year community collage then on to a four year university finally to a seminary. My majors would be Theology, I want to be a missionary to Israel one day. I am in the process in learning Biblical Hebrew (it's easier than Modern Hebrew). How about you? God bless,
