Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've been busy, busy, busy!
Concerts
Last night Steve and I went to a concert. Have you ever heard of Lindsey Buckingham? He's the male singer/guitartist in Fleetwood Mac. We had fourth row seats and he was right in front of us. It was such a good concert! He plays the guitar like you wouldn't believe.
We love to go to concerts. In the last few years we've seen Davey Jones from the Monkeys and Huey Lewis and the News (at Ebay Live), Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Jackson Browne, Styx, Celtic Women.
Halloween
We went to church for our annual Fall Festival. We had a great time! Jesse was Peter Pan/Robin Hood. His girlfriend's mother made him an outfit. He was supposed to be Peter Pan because Taylor was Tinkerbell, but he looked more like Robin Hood. Sarah was a flapper. She was absolutely gorgeous! I found her dress on the internet. I had to look and look to find one that was acceptable it length! Joe was a SWAT team member. I had to threaten him within an inch of his life at one point, he brandished his fake gun in my face when I wasn't expecting it. Okay, you moms, you know you would have done the same thing! (smile) James was a knight/warrior. John was Dash with green hair (it was supposed to be yellow) and Joel was Capt. Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. One of the college boys dressed as a pirate. He and Joel had the best time together. He talked "pirate talk" to Joel and gave him pirate tips.
I manned game booths. Ai yi yi. I had on white flip-flops and retreived balls of every kind from many different games. I was relieving those who wanted to take a break. I was sore from bending and retrieving. I'll post pics later. They're in Steve's camera. Jesse plays keyboard in our worship band, and the band played for a while. We had trunk-or-treating and people from the neighborhood joined us. No scary costumes! Yeah!!
Last weekend
Last weekend Steve went on retreat so I had six soccer games by myself. Jesse was able to help drive twice, but I'm happy to report I was able to make all the games, I didn't stay for all of each game, but I did make my appearance and the kids could look to the sideline and see mom.
Vision Forum order
I have fifteen boxes from Vision Forum to check in and inventory. Lots of good stuff! They have added new items to their product line and have made some of them available to resellers. We also have approval from Moody Publishers to start carrying their items.
Ecuador Missions Trip
Steve and Sarah are going to Ecuador (Galapagos Islands) in January on a missions trip. The group plans on planting three churches while they are there.
Magic Mountain
Today is Home Schooling Day at Magic Mountain here. A friend (my knitting teacher and fellow home educator) invited Joe to go along to hang out with her son. I'm sure he'll have a great time! He was so excited to wear his cords. (shaking head and smiling ) He needed some cords for church, so I shopped online at OldNavy.com and purchased "updated" church clothes for he and James. I haven't let him wear them anywhere because I want him to keep them nice and not wear out the knees. Today was his first chance to wear them.
Old Navy and church clothes
I have had the boys wearing the usual church fare for clothing. Nice slacks with a white or blue collared shirt. Now that Joe is in the youth group, he has kind of gone from "the little boy" stage to an older stage, thus his wardrobe needed a little updating and a certain "coolness" to it. I dreaded going in to an actual store and shopping for these boys and dragging everyone with me. What? Do you actually think it would be possible for me to go a store and not have EVERYONE want to buy something? So I decided to go the online route. Jackpot! Old Navy had nice button-up shirts, cords, and nice looking husky jeans. (James needed new jeans since he's worn the knees out of all of his.) With a few clicks of the mouse and keyboard, those babies were ordered, paid for and on there way. I love the internet!!!!
Knitting
Yesterday our teacher was showing us how to add a second color into your project. I've decided I'm making an afghan for a sister-in-law of mine for her birthday. I also take my scarf project when I'm at the soccer games/practices because it's just fifteen knitting stitches across. I love this scarf. I found it on www.lionbrand.com. If you sign up for their newsletter they'll send you a stitch of the week. What a bargain!
Hope you have a great weekend. Enjoy your family. Worship your Lord on Sunday.
Over and out!
