Letter from Mexico and Operation Christmas Child

Last night when we checked our mailbox we had a letter from Mexico! Unfortunately it's written in Spanish but that also makes it very exciting. Who would be writing to Joel-aged 5 from Mexico? It came with two postcards, a drawing and a letter. Amused but perplexed I placed it in my purse and figured I would ask my friend at Class Day who speaks English and Spanish.

Today it dawned me!!! I bet it's the recipient of Joel's Operation Christmas Child shoebox. Our church was sponsoring Operation Christmas Child so we committed to nine boxes, I think. Each of the boys did one for a boy their own age and then we had Sarah do one for girls for each of the given age groups.

The letter must be from Joel's little buddy hence the little drawing. I think his buddy is three. Other than that? I have to wait until Thursday to find out. I even asked a hispanic couple at the little grocery store if they spoke English and showed it to them but they didn't. Oh the curiosity is killing me!!!

Isn't that neat? I would never have thought about hearing back from something like that. I hope you will share with us what the letter says once you get it translated.
