Busy days the last few days getting packages ready for mailing. We had quite a few auctions close last week and usually the payments trickle in here and there. With the three day holiday we had more packages to take to the post office today! It no more seemed like I was done and I'd get another payment! I like to send our packages out immediately as I know others are eager to have their items in their hands to enjoy.
The ones that usually perplex me and I wait in line to see a postal clerk are the International and Military Mailings. I really don't want to mess those up! I got to go to the male postal clerk who usually runs over to my packages when I place them on counter to see if I've dated them correctly or whatever error he might be able to find. So he helped me and everything went smoothly. My gut feeling has been to take those mailings to the counter and talk to a postal clerk and he verified that it is a good idea because the packages need a barcode on them and I'm always confused as to what Customs form I need. So I learned a little something today when he was explaining the differences to me. Ebay is always an education!
I'm putting more .99 items up for auction. As I list it helps me update what I don't have up in the store or in auction format. I thought Family Man, Family Leader was listed, but it's not! So, I go in and make sure we have some available for others to purchase. Steve and Jesse are going through Family Man, Family Leader with a men's prayer/study group that they go to once a week. Steve has gone through it once before but Jesse hadn't so we bought him his own copy.
I was reading through parts of Created To Be His Help Meet again. It is such a good book! It seems as though one can never have too much teaching on how to be a great wife. I've been married for twenty-five years now and there is so much truth in it it's amazing. Things I've never seen before. One of the things that I learned through this last reading was that our husband's don't like us to complain about other people. It's a turn-off if you will. I found that right after I read that we were talking about something which eventually led to talking about someone and those nasty, negative words came out of my mouth, and guess what?! I could see what she was talking about!! I had never seen it before!!! My husband just kind of lost a little sparkle in his eye for me at that instant. So, that is something I'm trying to work on. Talking honestly with him but trying not to talk negatively about others.
I was so excited today! We received our No Greater Joy order and they included one of their calendars and their September-October 2005 issue. I know what I'll be reading while watching the Olympics tonight! Woohoo!!!
James got done with his school extra early today. That was because he started extra early!!! We only do math and reading/phonics/handwriting with him. He's soon to finish his K5 A Beka Phonics program and go onto the A Beka Grade 1 Reading Program. He'll love it because he will start on some Language and Grammar worksheets. He takes Science at Class Day and loves it.
Well I better close. The chicken is in the oven, the rice is on the stove and I need to pop open a can of corn and a can of peas to complete our meal.
Blessings!
