After my last post about eating more healthily, this post should make you laugh. If you go to McDonalds on May 15, you can get a free Southern Style Chicken Sandwhich with the purchase of any Medium drink. You can go in the morning and get one on a biscuit free, and then return later and get one on a bun for free. You can treat your whole family to lunch for the cost of 1 medium drink and 1 medium fry apiece. Unless you happen to have a gluten free girl like I have. The Southern Style Chicken is most definitely not gluten free; so Anna and I will be splitting a grilled chicken salad. :) Still, a super good deal! If you only treat your family to McDonalds once in a while, this Thursday would be a good day to do so. (I got this in an e-mail directly from McDonald's, so I know it is true.)
Also, if you could use a free $25, be sure to read this post.

Whatdya know? I finally got your page to load! Love your tip! I'm not sure if we'll drive down there or not on Thursday since gas is near $4.00 a gallon. (sigh)
We may start walking nearly everywhere. If it's too far to walk, then we don't need to go.
This is good to know. My husband is on a business trip this week and he needs to each cheaply. So I'm telling him about this McDonald's deal. This reminds me of when I was a girl. When a new McDonald's opened in our town, they had .10 hamburgers for a about a week. My parents had us there almost every night eating hamburgers for dinner. I don't remember even eating fries or getting drinks.

That is to funny about the chicken sandwich. Maybe this could be a picnic instead. : ) I think we will be visiting McDonald's Saturday.
Thanks for sharing.

This almost makes me want to go to McDonalds. For some reason I cannot eat there, it just goes right through me. This is a great tip though so I am going to pass it along to someone else!

Thanks, Amy, for letting me know. I think we would have looked silly on Saturday wanting our sandwich. This works better for me anyway, Thursday is the day I must run errands around town. Plus, the McDonald's near my house claims to "run out" of meat so that they can't make sandwiches.

I told my husband about this deal at McDonald's. He was working in Manhattan on the 15th. He went to McDonald's and ordered the special and they said "Not Here". I guess they can't afford to have these deals in Manhattan. In fact there are no Dollar Menus there either. You're forced to but a packaged meal. My husband says it's probably because the real estate is so expensive.
The bottom line is; We try not to insist on parent-led learning or gravitate toward child-led learning. We try instead to focus on God-led learning and ask for His input and perspective on every aspect of our home school. That way, when others fuss about what Dan and I are doing and make me second guess our decisions -- I can go back to our decision process and find God's fingerprints, reminding me that this is His way.
