Bundled in Prayer Summer 2008
Here are some of my most recent afghans, ponchos and shawls and a new addition to the line-up... "Loveys". A mom approached me and told me how her baby cries and cries for her BIP afghan, but it is big and they don't really like to let her take it in the car... so I made a miniature of her original afghan that was just big enough for her to take in her carseat. Look for it in the slide show labeled "Peyton's lovey!"

This afghan was really important to Hannah. When a friend from MOMYS lost her daughter Hannah begged me to make this afghan for her. It did not take much to convince me. Throughout the process Hannah insisted on praying along with me as I crocheted. It really touched me and I know that the recipient of this afghan will truly feel the love and the prayers that went into it. I pray that it may bring comfort to their family.

My sweet husband surprised me with a new sewing machine. Here are my first two projects:
This is one of those pre-smocked panels. I just had to sew it up the back and add some ribbon ties. EASY!
Kait does not look happy in this picture, but actually she was thrilled. I used to different turquoise and lavendar prints. Click on this one for a closer look!
I can't wait to sew more!

Kaitlyn's new skirt: simply a series of wide rectangular stripes divided by triangular godets. The fabric looks like denim, but it is actually a light weight cotton with a denim print. In this picture the skirt was not ironed, but it really hangs nicely and was very simple to make!
Here is the 3 tiered dress I made for Hannie. If you look very closely at the picture on the left you will see two cute buttons sewn on the front and a third button hanging from the top of the hanger. Kaitlyn found these buttons and I was pleased that they matched the fabric so well. The top one on the dress is a part of a flower. The bottom one is dots and the one on top is stripes and I sewed it onto a thick hair elastic so she can wear it in her hair. Looks cute!
Can you find the mistake on the dress??? I didn't notice it until I was all done, but I don't t hink it is too noticeable on her.
Sisters: ready to go out for birthday tea party!
But first, they take their new garments for a test spin! If it's not twirly it's not nearly as pretty, you know!

For her 17th birthday last month, Jocelyn "needed" a special kind of a gift! So, a Bundled in Prayer afghan seemed to be the perfect gift. So with a little intel from her mom and sister we picked just the right colors.
Here's the trademark heart in the upper right-hand corner.
This afghan is enormous. When folded in quarters it was still big enough to invite a cuddle from a big almost 10 year old boy!
Here she is opening it EARLY the morning of her birthday:
I hope she knows how dearly she and her family is loved.

When a lady from MOMYS.COM lost her husband last month, the ladies commissioned me to make an afghan for her and one for her newborn baby son (the youngest of 6 young children):
This afghan is called "Mended Hearts"

Please pray that these gifts will bring some measure of comfort to Kendra and her family.
