A Contest!!!

 As I mentioned in a previous post, I am having a give-away! The winner will recieve a beautiful purple, green, and white quilt made by me. You need not be a member of HSB to enter. Just make sure you give me some way to notify you :-D How I will determine the winner is-My family and I will vote on the paragraph and the one who gets the most votes wins. :-D

The entry guidelines are as follow:

• To enter, you must submit (through a comment) a paragraph about one of two things- The importance of a quilt or, What makes a quilt special.

• You must have your parents permission to enter as I will have to ship the quilt somewhere. I will ship it to your name or your parent's name. Whatever is within your family guidelines.

• The contest will run for two weeks from today. (The 4th) Therefore, it will be ending on the 18th at let's say, 9 p.m. You will have until then to enter. I will notify the winner through a PM. I will also announce it on my blog. :-D

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Since it is Thanksgiving, here is a list of what I am giving thanks to God for this year. :-D

1} I am thankful for God's grace and mercy

2} I am thankful that I can be in a warm house instead of in the cold outside.

3} I am thankful that my family is together

4} I am thankful for the abundance of food because some people will have none.

5} I am thankful for friends to celebrate this day of thanks with

6} I am thankful that this is our first Thanksgiving in our new house!

Contests EVERYWHERE!

Oh my contests are everywhere! On that note, I am planning my own give-away so be looking for that. :-D

Anyway, I thought since I was seeing so many contests I would do an entry of the contests I have recently come accross. :-D

A Post!

I am actually posting an entry! I know it has been far too long.

I baked my first cheesecake! (Mom makes them all the time so it was time for me to make one. :-D I adore cheesecakes! They are so delicious!) I was going to post photos but I was having problems with that. It was pretty good except I burnt the bottom because I was cooking the sauce for the topping and instead of turning the burner on under the sauce, I turned the one on that the cheesecake was sitting on top of. Guess I learned there. :-D

I don't think I said last time I posted but I got a job!!! I babysit for all of the youth workers kids at my uncle's church. (There usually is 15 or 16) It's every Wednesday night. I was so excited to get it! :-D I had actually been praying that morning asking God if He wanted me to babysit to please bring the job. And He did! God is so wonderful. It just amazes me to think that the God who made the universe cares about little 'ol me. I'm so glad He does! :-D

Letter to the Editor & A Burr Under My Saddle :-D

The other day I was reading the newspaper and I came across a letter to the editor concerning pro-lifers. Since my family and I are active pro-lifers I thought I should read it. So I did. The man who wrote this letter was talking about how pro-lifers are not truly pro-life or Christ followers because we don't support homosexuality or banning the death sentence. I was irritated with this man because he completely missed the point. We are pro-life because abortion is wrong. We don't support homosexuality because it is wrong. If someone has been sentenced to death it is because they did something wrong. God doesn't want us supporting things that go against His Word. Even the Israelites were commanded to put those who didn't obey God's laws to death. 

That letter put a big 'ol burr under my saddle and I just had to blog my thoughts. :-D

So Many Things.......

I seem to have an awful lot of things to blog about today. :-D

Thank you all for the many comments on my brothers blog regarding his 13th birthday. He thought it was a grand present. :-D

Secondly, I am currently in the middle of changing my template, but, I've started getting really busy with school so if you come by and it's a complete mess please excuse it. :-D Just know it will eventually get back to normal. (hopefully better. :-D) You can currently see my new header. (picture by Donovan.) Don't you just love it? :-D I have to change everything else to match it though.......

Also, I recently gave gelpenprincess her 100th comment and she created this cute award for me. Thank you gelpenprincess! :-D

I'm sure you all are wondering why I haven't been on for awhile. Well,.............we have been moving!!!! We are now officially moved in and while we are still unpacking, it is starting to feel like home.(Even though you trip over boxes everywhere you try to walk. :-D) I absolutely love our new house. After waiting a year for this move we were so ready! :-D

Rant of the Day :-D

My mom and I were disscusing something the other day. (we do that a lot. :-D) Why do churches feel like they have to replace Halloween with "Fall Harvest" or "Trunk or Treat"? Why not just ignore it? We think that it's because they don't want to seem weird (to the world) and so they instead say "Well, we don't celebrate Halloween we celebrate Fall Harvest." Most churches don't want to take a stand and be NOT OF THE WORLD. (like we are told to be in the Bible) It's really quite irritating. People are too worried about fitting in and what others think than what Jesus thinks. What has our society come to? Well, that's my rant for the day. :-D
